When did you realize you were a serious Disney parks fan?: I am not sure I ever really “realized” it. I just know that it is one of the few places in the world that truly makes me happy. The thought of going there or when I get to Main Street in Disney World and see the castle for the first time each trip it is like I am a little kid all over again. There is nothing like it for me.

First Disney World Trip / experience: first experience was when I was 6 months old and it was 1971 (yes I am dating myself) the park had just opened (do not remember it, but I wish I could). I have since been there about 30 times.

Favorite Character: This one is tough, my favorite character of all time is of course Mickey, but there are few close seconds for me too I love Timon and Pumba (they are just too funny) and I also like Tink.

Favorite Disney Movie: Lion King without a doubt

Favorite Ride: Rockin Roller Coaster (love this ride)

Favorite Resort to stay at: first choice would be Polynesian and second choice would be Port Orleans French Quarter.

Favorite place to dine (table service): Coral Reef and Cinderella’s Castle I truly enjoy both.

Favorite quick service: Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom.

Best Snack: Mickey’s Ice Cream Bar

Best free thing to do at Disney: Downtown Disney – I love to walk around there and look at all the different shops (of course in the end it usually costs me money). Also love the street performers in the different countries in Epcot.

Tip or advice to a Disney guest: I would say my best advice would be to plan ahead for your Disney vacation. If you have a game plan you can do Disney, enjoy it and see all of things that are on your must do list. This also avoids melt downs with small children if you have a plan of action going in.

Anything you MUST Do each time you go to WDW:
First thing is see the Castle (love this) then Space Mountain, Soarin, Rockin Roller Coaster and Everest and Its a Small World (not trip is complete with Small World).

Top five attracts at WDW: Rockin Roller Coaster, Space Mountain, Sourin, Everest and Its a Small World.

Your favorite special event at WDW: I love Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and I also love Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (can I pick two?)

Do you collect anything Disney?: Yes I collect the ceramic figurines, snow globes and I also collect pins.

First Disney World Trip / experience: Sometime in the late 80s. I was a student at FSU and we went to Epcot for the day. I remember saying to my then-boyfriend “We can see all of this for this one ticket?” and being amazed. I was pretty much hooked from then on.

Favorite Character: Pumbaa.

Favorite Disney Movie: Beauty and the Beast.

Favorite Ride: Haunted Mansion

Favorite Resort to stay at: Tie between AKL and the Grand Floridian.

Favorite place to dine (table service): California Grill followed by Via Napoli.

Favorite quick service: Wolfgang Puck Express. Best deal on property.

Best Snack: Cheese danish.

Best free thing to do at Disney: Resort hop

Tip or advice to a Disney guest: Go when it’s hot or go when it’s crowded, but don’t go when it’s BOTH hot and crowded.

Anything you MUST Do each time you go to WDW: Ride the Magic Kingdom monorail.
Top five attracts at WDW: 1) Splash Mountain 2) Soarin’ 3) Haunted Mansion 4) Pirates 5) The monorail. Best free ride anywhere.

Your favorite special event at WDW: Mickey’s Not So Scary Christmas Party.

First Disney World Trip / experience: 1986… I was 4 years old…the Magic Kingdom was 15 years old. It was magical! Even though the Haunted Mansion made me white as a ghost!

Favorite Character: The Big Cheese himself, of course! But I also have to make mention of Mr. Incredible!

Favorite Disney Movie: Meet The Robinsons

Favorite Ride: Expedition Everest – it is my happy place!

Favorite Resort to stay at: Wilderness Lodge – I love that you can hear the train whistle from the Magic Kingdom, but you’re a world away… just across Bay Lake, nestled in to the pines.

Favorite place to dine (table service): I honestly do not have a ‘favorite’. With so many great places across the Walt Disney World Resort to dine… here are a few of my favorites, in no particular order:

Whispering Canyon, Tusker House (Donald’s Safari Breakfast), Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, Garden Grill, and 1900 Park Fare (Breakfast or Dinner).

Favorite quick service: Flame Tree BBQ in the Animal Kingdom, Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT, Cosmic Rays in the Magic Kingdom, and Starring Rolls at Hollywood Studios.

Best Snack: DOLE WHIP! No doubt about it! I prefer pineapple vanilla swirl, please!

Best free thing to do at Disney: A monorail ride, followed by an evening in the lobby at the Grand Floridian. OK, so the GF has a reputation for being a little stuffy. But the atmosphere, the live music, and the possibility of great drinks and desserts at Mizner’s Lounge… It is such a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere, reminiscent of a day  and age when leisure time was spent rejuvenating from the hectic pace of life. No one wants to sit and relax anymore!

Tip or advice to a Disney guest: Wear comfortable shoes, pack blister prevention/repair resources (anti-friction products, moleskin, peppermint foot spray/rub), and be sure to take at least two pair of tennis shoes, AND a comfortable pair of walking sandals. Also, do not buy new tennis shoes a week before you go!

Anything you MUST Do each time you go to WDW: Take just a few minutes to enjoy being surrounded by the magic that is the Walt Disney World Resort! The best place to experience magic is walking down Main Street USA, or by the fire at Wilderness Lodge.

Top five attractions at WDW: Expedition Everest, Kilamanjaro Safari, Festival of the Lion King, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Your favorite special event at WDW: As far as special hard ticketed events, it would have to be Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. As far as something that’s free that happens every day… The daily Flag Retreat at 5pm in Town Square at the Magic Kingdom. I have a very soft spot for the honor and respect that this event shows for our Nation’s flag. It is a great reminder that the freedoms we enjoy have come at a great sacrifice, and that isn’t to be taken lightly.

Do you collect anything Disney?: Pins, framed art, vintage Disney merchandise (take a look at a plush Mickey from the 1950’s, change is inevitable with Disney!) and books.
