A Disney MagicBand fit for a princess
By now you’ve probably heard about Disney’s MagicBands, that holds your room key, park tickets, dining credits, Fastpass+ and more all on a simple wrist band. You can customize your magic band any way you like but we decided to take it one step further by turning an actual, workable MagicBand into a work of art.
MagicBands come in eight colors but Lisa and Steve Griswold with MouseChat.net, a Disney fan site, wanted something different. “I wanted to turn an ordinary MagicBand into a work of art” said Griswold. And a work of art is an understatement. The elaborate one of a kind designer band she created is adorned with over 23 carats of real gems. London Blue Topaz, Royal Purple Amethyst, Rhodolite, and three Rubies at just over 4 1/2 carats make up the Iconic Mickey Mouse head in the center.
The MagicBand is fully functional at the Walt Disney World parks, but it’s intended purpose is as a creative showpiece. “We created this MagicBand tennis bracelet to be a piece of art to spark the imagination of other artists and Disney fans. We hope to see other jewelry pieces and designs created by Disney Fans for their vacations” said Griswold.
