Is Epcot Illuminations going away?
This weeks Disney park news, Epcot, Straws, Chicken Guy and more
We love Illuminations at Epcot, but the show has been live since 1999. For Disney World’s 50th anniversary we think a new night time how at Epcot might be in order. Epcot’s world showcase now has Frozen in the Norway pavilion and Remy coming to Paris, could a new Illumination show now come with Disney IP to get the kids more engaged? Epcot has gotten away from Edutainment and more into integrating popular Disney characters into the Epcot attractions.
No More Straws at Disneyland and Walt Disney World
Yes straws are going away at all Disney parks except Tokyo Disneyland. Plastic straws are being removed from Disney parks. CA passed a law banning plastic straws in certain counties in CA. I don’t know all the details behind the CA law on straws, but Disney Parks is moving forward with the CA changes at Disneyland regarding straws. I assume Disney sees the savings in no longer having to provide a free straw and now guests will have to purchase a solid plastic reusable straw and carry it with them. Or maybe Disney will be providing paper straws at their parks. In early 2019 the removal of straws will begin. It will be interesting with Bubble Tea and shakes to see what Disney comes up with.
Chicken Guy comes to Disney Springs
Across the the Coca Cola store is Chicken Guy. This affordable restaurant is now open at Disney Springs and just about everything is under $9. Now you need to add a drink, etc. But $9 average is pretty much what you would pay for lunch / dinner at your local restraunt. So Chicken Guy sounds like a deal just by looking over the menu and price point. We have not been to Chicken Guy yet to try it. If you go, please post your comments on our Mouse Chat Facebook Page.
