First Disney World Trip / experience: 1986… I was 4 years old…the Magic Kingdom was 15 years old. It was magical! Even though the Haunted Mansion made me white as a ghost!
Favorite Character: The Big Cheese himself, of course! But I also have to make mention of Mr. Incredible!
Favorite Disney Movie: Meet The Robinsons
Favorite Ride: Expedition Everest – it is my happy place!
Favorite Resort to stay at: Wilderness Lodge – I love that you can hear the train whistle from the Magic Kingdom, but you’re a world away… just across Bay Lake, nestled in the pines.
Favorite place to dine (table service): I honestly do not have a ‘favorite’. With so many great places across the Walt Disney World Resort to dine… here are a few of my favorites, in no particular order: Whispering Canyon, Tusker House (Donald’s Safari Breakfast), Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, Garden Grill, and 1900 Park Fare (Breakfast or Dinner).
Favorite quick service: Satu’li Canteen at Animal Kingdom, Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT, Cosmic Rays in the Magic Kingdom, and ABC Commissary at Hollywood Studios.
Best Snack: DOLE WHIP! No doubt about it! I prefer pineapple vanilla swirl, please!
Best free thing to do at Disney: A monorail ride to resort hop and take in the sights, especially around the holidays.
Tip or advice to a Disney guest: Wear comfortable shoes, pack blister prevention/repair resources (anti-friction products, moleskin, peppermint foot spray/rub), and be sure to take at least two pair of tennis shoes, AND a comfortable pair of walking sandals. Also, do not buy new tennis shoes a week before you go!
Anything you MUST Do each time you go to WDW: Take just a few minutes to enjoy being surrounded by the magic that is the Walt Disney World Resort. The best places to experience magic is walking down Main Street USA, on a Savanna Overlook at Animal Kingdom Lodge, or by the fire at Wilderness Lodge.
Top five attractions at WDW: Expedition Everest, Kilamanjaro Safari, Festival of the Lion King, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Your favorite special event at WDW: As far as ticketed events, it would have to be Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. As far as something that’s free that happens every day… The daily Flag Retreat at 5pm in Town Square at the Magic Kingdom. I have a very soft spot for the honor and respect that this event shows for our Nation’s flag. It is a great reminder that the freedoms we enjoy have come at a great sacrifice, and that isn’t to be taken lightly.
Do you collect anything Disney?: Pins, framed art, vintage Disney merchandise (take a look at a plush Mickey from the 1950’s, change is inevitable with Disney!) and books.
