I’m enjoying this episode as the pools are a highlight of our trips. As I make my way through, I’d thought I’d add a few things about the Caribbean Beach pirate pool in case someone is weighing options of staying there.
The slide:
You enter the slide via s circular stairwell enclosed within a fort turret. You can see right over the fort wall overlooking the entire pool area. It’s fantastic, especially at night.
The slide is completely enclosed as it travels through the fort walls and empties you right in front. It goes completely dark for at least 1-2 seconds (even during the day). I was surprised the first time I rode this.
The Shipwreck play area:
IMO, the best kids splash areas on property.
The Bar:
Great spot for some island drinks to make you feel like you’re in the Caribbean. It’s a few steps away from the pool so you’ll be back in no time at all.
Epcot Fireworks:
Depending on wear you’re sitting, you can view the Epcot fireworks every evening. It’s a great way to cap off you’re evening
Overall, I’d highly recommend taking a day and spending it at this pool area. It has a lot to offer. If you can, visit in the evening. The lighting and atmosphere here are excellent.
