FastPass+ and My Disney Experience now coming to offsite day guests beginning March 31 2014 at Walt Disney World.
WDW Magic, a Disney Fans site, is reporting that Fastpass+ and My Disney Experience will be available now for offsite guests coming to Walt Disney World. This is great news that Fastpass+ for offsite guests is now available.
As with Annual Passholders, the offsite day guests using regular single day or multi-day tickets will be able to make FastPass+ reservation up to 30 days before their park visit. MagicBands will be available to purchase, although are not required to use FastPass+. The RFID enabled ticket media can serve as the entry to FastPass+ attractions in place of the MagicBand.
The day guests will also have access to the ‘My Disney Experience’ apps and website, and will no longer be restricted to using in-park kiosks, although some kiosks will remain available for anyone who does not have access to an iPhone or similar device.
To begin using advance FastPass+, guests will need to link their ticket in ‘My Disney Experience’ before any FastPass+ reservations can be made.
This rollout to offsite guests largely completes the first phase of FastPass+ with most categories of guests now being able to make FastPass+ reservations in advance using ‘My Disney Experience.’ Walt Disney World resort hotel guests still maintain an advantage by being able to make reservations 60 days out.
Also there are reports the MagicBands will be available for purchase for day guests if they want a band for under $15.00
I hope this is true. I just booked for July for my son & nieces first trip. I booked at the Hilton Double Tree which is within the park & recognized by Disney as a Disney resort yet it’s still owned by hilton which doesn’t offer the bands. Oddly they have a Disney package as the other resorts do that offer tickets with the room…. With taking 2 kids I really want the convenience of the bands. I didn’t realize I wouldn’t be getting them automatically with my tickets 🙁 I was wondering if this isn’t true can I purchase bands some other way or even have used bands programmed with my information & link our tickets to reprogrammed bands??? What options do I have if this article isn’t true?
Good News Tryna, here is what was just announced on a Disney Fan Site, but I think it could be true…
My Magic+ MagicBands for Daytime Guest UPDATE 3/26/2014

FYI: MagicBands can be purchased at WDW in the parks at loads of the gift shops. They are $12.95. They come in the same colors as WDW resort guests currently get as part of their Disney World Vacation package.
Offsite guests can now also book FastPass+ passes 30 days before arrival. Resort guests get 60 days to book their attraction reservations with My Disney Experience online.
Are they working on being able to use magic bands for purchases? We will be staying at Shades of Green in February.
Kristin,
Everyone can get MagicBands now. You would need to purchase them for $12.95 at one of the Disney Parks or Disney owned resorts. Then go into My Disney Experience and add them to your account. You will move your park ticket admission over to your new MagicBand. Staying at a non Disney owned hotel you will be able to book FastPass+ 30 days before your vacation. You can add your credit card to your Disney World Resort at check in and then pick a four digit pin code. Then charges will show up on your Disney resort folio that you made with your MagicBand. You have to stay at a Disney owned hotel for the charging part.
If you stay at a Disney owned hotel you will get the MagicBands as part of your stay. You can pick the colors online or they will give you gray MagicBands at Check in.
Hello-
I am traveling to Disney World in November with a group of 8 (4 adults, 4 children). We are staying off-site. My plan is to purchase bands to replace the tickets upon entry to the park. Will I have to go into MDX to move all of my info (FP,ADR) or can the clerk who sells the bands yo me not move this info over?
Thanks!
Hi Cheryl,
We purchased one at the parks once and had to get it activated at City Hall or Will Call at the Magic Kingdom. Or you can login to My Disney Experience and do it that way also.
