Will I get Magic bands for my Disney vacation?
I get this questions countless times a day while Disney World is still testing My Magic Plus / Magic Bands at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney has released a chart that shows which resorts will be getting Magic Bands over the next few months during the ongoing testing.
You can participate in MyMagic+ tests based on arrival date and the Disney Resort hotel included in your reservation.
Can I test My Magic Plus Magic Bands before my Disney Cruise?
If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel for a pre or post night stay during a Disney Cruise Line® vacation you are also included.

Participation in the My Magic+ Magic Bands test is optional.
If you do participate you will be asked for feedback on your trip experience by Walt Disney World® Research.
Important: Contact Disney or your Travel Agent about My Magic+ testing so you sign up correctly, plan your FastPass+ reservations, download the Disney Experience App etc.

ALL Disney World Resorts are now getting MagicBands. These are the on property resorts owned by the Disney company.
Loved the band information. It appears your schedule for testing has changed. We will be at Coronado Springs the week before Christmas.
Yesterday our Magic Bands arrived in the mail. I picked yellow so I can find it when I take it off, Wife picked red. They have our names printed on the back. CAN’T WAIT TO TRY THEM!
Hi Steve, The chart with Disney Resort Hotels listed, does not have Port Orleans The French Quarter checked. Is the French Quarter part of the Magic band.

Yes all Disney resort have them now and have gotten rid of the Key to the World Cards. If you signed up for My Disney Experience online or with a travel agent, you will be able to put names on your bands (inside) and pick colors. If you don’t sign up you will get grey bands at the front desk at check in. Have a great vacation at Universal and Walt Disney World
Hi! My family and I are planning to stay at the Yacht Club in October. We’re staying offsite for a week before our stay in Disney, so we’re purchasing our park hopper tickets all together instead of purchasing tickets before and purchasing tickets as a package when we book the resort (so that it’s cheaper). Do you know if we would still get our bands before our trip? Or do we only get bands if we book a package? I’m still kind of confused about the rules of when where and how to get bands! Thank you!
Any idea if Shades of Green will start doing Magic Bands???
Only Walt Disney World resort hotels are getting the MagicBands. Maybe this will change at some point but I think the MagicBands, at least for FastPass+, Disney would keep for just their resort guests. This gives those guests an extra perk for booking and staying on property.

Sorry no, but you can buy them at Disney World for $12.95 and transfer your park tickets to them when you buy them. Or just use your park tickets without a MagicBand for FastPass+ and book your rides 30 days before arrival.

we have reservations at music resort for disney marathon week-end. have paid for magic band but have not received them yet. when can we expect them?
Hi Lana, If this Disney trip is part of a group event it’s really however the group set it up. Most group events at Disney World will give you the Disney Magicbands at the group check in desk as part of your package. If you booked a Disney World Package with travel agent or with Disney over the phone, you will get the magicbands at your home about two weeks before your Disney vacation.
I have a Disneyland (Aneheim) vacation planned in late January. We will be staying at the Disney Paradise Pier Hotel. Will we be receiving the Magic Bands?

Hey Mike. Have a great time a Disneyland. Only Walt Disney World has MagicBands so you don’t have to worry about them on your Disneyland vacation.
When will I receive my Magic Bands? My family vacation is in December 2015. Will I receive them before or after my vacation is paid in full?

Yes MagicBands mail out after you have made your final payment for your Disney World Vacation. They ship out about 3-4 weeks before your travel date.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort you will get MagicBands mailed to you as part of your vacation package.
Or you can buy one at the park if you like.
