Just catching up with your podcasts. There were several suggestions for Victoria and Albert’s, but an alternative is the Flying Fish Cafe Chef’s Tasting Wine Dinner. It may not be the equivalent of V&A in terms of elegance but it is an exceptional food, wine, and dining experience. Five courses paired with 5 wines and you sit right in front of the chef. Seating is limited to six people and because of the informal setting you can converse with your “table mates” as well as the staff. Absolutely loved it and will be going back. Like V&A it is not cheap – $314.44 for two. I believe my wife and I are the only diners who had the chef and entire kitchen staff take a picture with us – a definite keepsake.
Jon that’s a great suggestion. We just ate at Flying Fish last night with a party of 10 or so. It was my first time and it was fabulous. Service, Food, Drinks, everything was wonderful. We will be doing a show on our experience tomorrow that should be released in a week or two. Thanks for the information on the tasting wine dinner. That sounds like an amazing experience. The restaurant closed in January we a redesign. The staff is very excited about the new look and some updated menu items and keeping the classics that everyone loves.
