I am welcome to Mass Jet. I'm Lisa and joining me at It's Deep and only Steve. Hello. Hey. So we're going to do kind of an impromptu, just the two of us podcast. Steve just got back from the Five Night voyage from the Scarlet League on Virgin Voyages. And he literally is crawling out of his skin. No, he's virtually crawling out of his skin because… …of a cat attacking my leg. Oh, that too. Ow. The same time. Nice little needle claws. Yeah. Because he had such a wonderful time and he wanted to be able to really tell everyone about this while it's still fresh in his mind.

I will not be around next week. So, you know, it's one of those things where we don't know when we're going to get back to it. So let's do it now. Yeah, it's the moment. Sharpie and I were supposed to go on Virgin Voyages when it first launched, which is this new cruise line. What did it launch? Oh, it's been a… it's been many years ago. It was before coat. It was like five years ago. Yeah. And then we had been to events before the cruise ships were even built.

And, you know, I was kind of reluctant when I went to some of those events because I was like, this is crazy. I was like… Why do you think it was crazy? Was it too far out there? Yeah, it was just so… So it was, you know, kind of a millennial type cruise, I could think. But then I was thinking, do the millennials have money for this type of cruise? And then it was kind of edgy. Like I was thinking, I don't know if the audience is going to like this.

Or if the audience is going to like this is going to have money to do it. So I was skeptical. And then Lisa went on two of them, right? So you've been on… I went on one probably a year ago. And then I went on one in October. Okay. It was the same ship both times. Okay. It was kind of the same ship different day. So Scarlet Lady out of Miami. Yes. For both. Yes. The nice new port terminal. Oh, the other. Because they have their own port terminal.

Yeah. So they went all in. I mean, they… They're good at it. And three to four ships. I'm not even sure there's a bunch of… They have… They're still coming out. They built a brand new terminal in Miami. And yeah. So it's… And it's beautiful. And it's also nice. So you fly into Miami. It's like 15 minutes drive. So. Yeah. It's not for at all. You can fly into Lauderdale to go on Virgin. But it is a longer drive. And if you can go… I made the mistake of going out of Miami.

But flying into Lauderdale. Cause it was like… I don't know. $60 cheaper on the ticket. I'm like, well, you know, it certainly won't matter that much on the cab pair or the Uber. It did. So just going to Miami. Save yourself the hassle. Oh, yeah. So yeah. So yeah. So Virgin boys. So the start off, I was on seaboard before this cruise. Maybe three to four weeks before the seaboard is a better. That was also the beginning of November. Yeah. Yeah. So that's a luxury line.

So when I got on Virgin Voyages, I was like, oh, because I called Lisa and I was like… Oh, when you got to your room. I was like, I don't know. I don't know about this. So he described the room to me as something out of IKEA's catalog. Yeah. Like if you have an Allen wrench with you, you can take apart that room in like 10 minutes. It's. So my first impression was not great when I walked on to be truthful. So you walked on the hallway and they have like blue and white striped carpeting that like even the people in front of me that we're walking down the hallway.

We were like, oh, it's like really hard to look at. And then you get in your room and it's a sea terrace room. So, and it's, it's very minimalistic. So if you've been to Avonterra at Universal Studios, it's kind of that vibe, right? So it's modern minimalist. Or what's that hotel, the W? Or if yes, if you've been to the W hotel. Yeah. Middle-malistic. That's kind of got that kind of feeling. Everything is controlled by a tablet. So the TV, the drapes, open and close.

You can set different moods for lighting. So, you know, so you can do all that you can order things on the tablet as well. So that's, so I was a little taken back by the room. But then I didn't spend a lot of time in the room. So it really didn't. After a while, it was like, okay, I get it. So it wasn't really that bad. But it's not a really nice, well-appointed room with a walk-in closet and a giant bathroom or anything like that. So you just have to be aware, which I saw the photos of before.

So, but after that, I mean, the cruise was amazing. That was like probably one of the best cruises I've been on. It would have been better if I was with people. Yeah. Well, you went on a training trip. Yeah. So. But I couldn't go. So you didn't, and you didn't have anyone else to go with and share a room. So everyone else did partner up. Yeah. And I think I may have mentioned that from my last one in October that I went by myself, but everyone else was coupled up.

Yeah. So if you go with someone, so I kind of looked at it from the, and they, if you're on your own. And if you're single and you want to meet people, they put a letter in your room like, hey, there's a bunch of single outings and there's all these things going on. So they do understand that if you booked a single room. And so if you are going on your own and you want to meet people, then they set all that up. So that's all in your room. The other thing that's really cool that is really small, but they have an app and you book your dining and your shows and everything in the app, which is really easy to use.

But they also send text messages in the app or their, you know, in the, in alerts. And so they were like, hey, we noticed you didn't have dining tonight. So we went ahead and booked six o'clock for you at this restaurant. We didn't do that for me. I know that's so cool because like no cruise line does that. That's so and I didn't, and I already had something I was doing. So I didn't use it, but it was really cool to see that they are like paying attention and doing things like that for you.

That's, that's like a very cool. Um, the shows like when I was on seaborne, which has 600 people versus virgin voyages that holds about 2,700 or somewhere around there. I guess the show. So most of the shows I was used to that are non Disney. I'm thinking like singing, dancing type shows. Very. Yeah. Yeah. But you can see. Yeah. Yeah. Virgin voyages. The shows are amazing. They're totally different than what you would get on another cruise line. They're like kind of Cirque de Soleil.

Uh, circus type shows. Um, well, I think that acrobatic dance. The dual reality show definitely is that not one of the best shows on the water. It's amazing. You have to see the dual reality show. I can't decide between the aqua theater on Royal Caribbean or dual dual reality. Yeah. So dual reality is amazing. So you can book it in the app. You can book it when you get on board. So make sure you have the app before you can on board. And then there's it's on different days and different show times.

So make sure if it's not available on Wednesday, look at Thursday. Look at the show times. I, um, I think I did book it, but some of the other shows. Usually I just waited and there's a wait list. So I got there 15 minutes earlier, 20 minutes early. And I just waited and then they said, okay, there's availability. And then I walked in. So you could do that as well. But I would book them, uh, online in advance. So dual reality. Amazing. And the, it's in the red room.

So the red room is there kind of main theater. And it's set up like every show in there. It's set up totally different. So it's not like you're standard auditorium where you go and sit. And then there's a stage like for dual reality. There's you're like the presenters of the entertainers are in the middle of the room. And then they're seating on the left and right. And then there's another show where it's a stage on one side and seating. And then on the last night is, is, is another show that's kind of like a nightclub.

Kind of concert show all in one. We're like if you were on stage with the performers while the show was going on, standing there. That's how it's set up, which is really cool. It's like just a big room with different stages and things. And you're just standing and walking around and it's all around you. And the stages move. And the people move and they tell you to move. It's really cool. So anyway, I love the show. It's more of a comedy music entertainment.

And I want to tell you to move. It's really cool. So anyway, I love how that whole thing is set up. And then there's also a, there's a drag queen, so there is a drag show. It's more of a comedy music entertainment. And that's like a theater show. Yeah, so that's in the manner, which is one of the nightclubs, which is a two story. And there's like a stage in the back. And that's set up different ways too. Sometimes there's a DJ on a very small stage.

Sometimes there's no stage and it's just dancing. Sometimes there's a giant stage where it comes all the way out for the ship show, which was in there as well. So the shows are amazing. Totally different than you would get on any other ship. The other thing that I found really good is the food. And there's a lot of cruise lines where the food is not good. But on Virgin, every restaurant I eat at all included. You know, it's not like you have to pay extra to go eat at these specialty restaurants.

They're not crammed. They're not gigantic venues where everybody is two inches apart. And the white staff is trying to weave through. And they're rushing back and forth to the kitchen. And they're trying to get everybody in and out. There's like none of that, which was really nice. The staff is amazingly happy. And it's just like eating in a really nice fancy restaurant. Even when I was on seaboard in their giant big dining room, it's still got that old old cruise feel where it was like, you know, two and a half hours to eat.

Yeah, it's your classic like cruise liner. Yeah, but here on this is more like being in a. It's like it was like just eating at a really nice fancy. Yeah, stay crest around somewhere where the staff is really nice and happy. And everything is comes out at a decent amount of, you know, there's like no waiting like did they forget about us. So the food was amazing. I mean, to the point where I was like, man, there were two restaurants I still didn't even get to eat at.

And then there were restaurants that I ate. Well, you didn't get to eat it the week. I had brunch at the week, but I didn't have dinner. So then I didn't go for dinner because I felt like I already had brunch there. There's too many restaurants to eat at on a four or five night cruise. And there's also so many good things on the menu that I felt like, you know, sometimes on those menus. I feel like, I guess I'm going to have the standard steak. There were so many options that I was like, man, I need to come back.

So that was good. So extra virgin. I had the sea bass. It's a. It's a pasta restaurant. So I had, you know, they have no key and all kinds of amazing postos that you can get as a meal or as a side. The desserts and all of these restaurants are really good too. But I went to gum bay, which is the Korean barbecue, which is. No, it's on the last night. So I didn't have a reservation. So I did a walk in and they, they set you at a party with different people anyways because it's kind of like a hibachi like type thing.

But Korean barbecue, they cook in front of you in the in the middle of the table. So there's five or six people at a table. So I got to meet a bunch of people and they were like, this is the best time we've ever had the way the waitress phenomenal. They bring over this menu. And she's in there's so many things on the menu. So she's like, all right, I'm going to here's what I'm going to order for you guys. I'm going to order these appetizers, these mains, this dessert.

You know, does that sound good if you want to add anything else to it? No, the amount of food was unbelievable. It was so good. She was phenomenal. Saki. They bring you a drink. In the back of the menu is a drinking game. So she comes over and she sits down with you and teaches you all the drinking game and she does the drinking game with you. And she brings a bottle of saki that is included. And she gives everybody shots. And if you don't drink one person at the table, then it drinks.

So she didn't get a shot. But she still played the game. And then you play this drinking game. And then if you mess up, you drink a shot. And then she fills your glass up again. And you keep going until one person wins. And so everybody's screaming in this restaurant and playing these games and chanting. So it's loud. And they tell you when you walk in. They're like, it's going to be loud. You're going to be at a table with a bunch of strangers that you're going to meet.

You're going to, you know, so they let you know. So if that's not your thing. But everybody had an amazing time in there. And I can't eat the amount of food was, it was crazy. I don't know. I was telling Lisa, I'm like, there's no way they're making money. Cause they give so much. They give so much. At such an amazing deal. Well, and you mentioned their, their people, their staff is so friendly and happy. They're getting paid pretty well. Like when you get on the ship, there's a, a sail away party, right?

And it's by the pool. And they do this big thing. And they give everybody champagne in champagne glasses. They pour champagne. They're just walking around with champagne everywhere. People got two champagne glasses in their hands, whatever. They don't do that. Now they do that on a luxury cruise line with 600 people where you're paying a ton of money. But they don't do that on carnival, royal Disney princess MSC. Any of those. That doesn't happen.

So really, that's amazing. And then they give you a bottle of sake on the table at, at a gum bay when you're having dinner. So that was, it was just crazy. So razzled dazzle. I had lamb. It was pretty good. Test kitchen. So the test kitchen is a cool concept. Lisa ate there. Um, I did. It was. It's like more like French cuisine where it's small amounts of food. But they're very unique. They're wearing lab coats. Like the first thing we had was some type of corn.

Appetizer thing. Yeah. So it was like, it looks like corn on the cob. It looks like corn on the cob, but it's like not. Well, that's the butter. Yeah. But you're supposed to use with, I think it was corn bread. And then they give you bread. Yeah. So, and then they're a, um, so very unique. People, that was the only one where people either really enjoyed it. Like really enjoyed it or did it enjoy it. Um, because you have to have a unique palette. Um, and you also usually go out of their hungry.

Yeah. I didn't, I didn't necessarily enjoy the food. There were a couple things that I'm like, okay, that's interesting. Yeah. But I did try most everything. And it's a cool concept. And it looks like a lab. But it was an enjoyable experience. Yeah. And then the staff was amazing. Right. And the food is good. It's just small. And if you don't like that kind of food. Like really like asparagus for dessert, which sounds horrible, but it's actually really good.

It wasn't even asparagus. It's more like a, Yeah. It's like a frozen. It's a gelato thing. Yeah. And then we had a strawberry dessert thing also that came after that. Um, so all really good. But like everybody comes out of there and goes to the pizza place in order to grab a pizza, which is a whole another story. But yeah. Um, and then there's another show which I'd or dinner that I'd even know about. So that's why you couldn't even eat it. Everything called the ship show, which is a dinner show.

So it's in the manner. And you don't book it on the dining side of the app. You book it on the entertainment side. Uh, so that's why I, a lot of people I think don't know about it. And it books up quick. So you got to get in there and find it. And I remember if I, I think I, I think I did a walk in. So I think I couldn't get it. Yeah. Good luck with walk ins. Yeah. Um, I did, I tried to do a walk in for breakfast at Rezel Dazzle one day. And they said, and I was just one.

And they said no, check the app for a reservation. Oh, I got it everywhere. Oh, I didn't. So I gave up trying. Oh, it was. Yeah. So, but the ship show is a dinner show on both floors. It's a really good show. It's a variety act show. So I would see it. And then you get, they bring the appetizers as two appetizers. You pick a, you pick a, like a chicken Parmesan or maybe sea bass, I think, uh, as the main and then the desserts come, uh, as well. And you can, uh, get a drink or pay for a drink.

Um, and then it's, it's also kind of Cirque de Soleil esque with different variety acts and singing and dancing. And it's, it's a lot of fun. So I would do that if you can. Um, let's see. The galley, which is just your normal buffet type area, like you get on and you just go up to the stations and get your food. Um, the way this works is everything is freshly made. There are little stations, but there's not like you're taking your tray and scooping your own food.

You can look at them. You know, there's a taco station and then there's a dessert station or whatever. But basically what you do, which a lot of people don't know because they've been on other cruise lines is you just sit at a table and then at the table are QR codes that you scan with your phone and it shows you the different breakfast lunch or dinner menu. Uh, and then there's a little, where that little stand is on the table with the QR codes, you push this little red thing and the flag pops up and then

someone comes over and waits on you. And then they take your order and you can order all your drinks. You don't have to go like, oh, it's going to find table. I'm not going to go find drinks. Not going to find silverware. Now you just go find a table, sit down. They bring you the silverware. They bring you your drinks. They bring you the appetizers, the main course, the desserts, whatever you want. Oh, it's so good. And it's all freshly made like avocado toast that was so good for breakfast.

And you can get omelets. You can get like Korean noodles. Uh, or a lunch, all kinds of amazing food. So that's a breakfast lunch or dinner there. The other thing that was nice, because I'm looking at all these things compared to other cruise lines is just the ice cream place. So like some of those ships, it's like they have free soft serve ice cream and it's only certain hours and it's like way outside or whatever. Here they have like gelato, like actual really good gelato with all kinds of

different cones or cups. So you can get a velvet red velvet cone. You can get a chocolate cone. You can get a bit of an alicone. I was so boring. I really enjoyed the strawberry. It was so good. You know, that the gelato was really good. You can get a couple of scoops on an ice cream cone. It's all included. And it's not like you're waiting forever either. So that was good. And I was like, man, that's really good gelato. Like any other place, they would charge extra.

The pizza place, which is next to the gelato place, has phenomenal pizza, like really good Italian pizza. Well, and you know, there's times when they're a little slower. And I'd be like, you know what, let's, let's just not the normal amount of pepperoni. Just do half what you normally do, but double the cheese. And you can like completely customize that like whatever. Yeah. I make your pizza and they have, yeah, and they have really good, like the chicken pizza.

It's got all kinds of toppings on it. They've got all it's, so you can make a really nice, really good pizza. And then when I'm sitting there, the guy comes around and gets people's drink quarters and you get people's drinks. And then there's people that come in and they're like, Oh, I want some pieces to go. and they have to go boxes and they put them in the to go boxes. And that was like really good pizza. Like other cruise lines I've seen where the pizza is really awful.

It's like, and they're just trying to crank out cheese pizza as fast as they can. And throw a slice on a plate and you, and they just give it to you and you leave. And there's a giant line. This is like really good Italian pizza. So and the staff was phenomenal. Even I ran into some other people who said, Oh my gosh, the pizza restaurant, they were so nice. Like I was looking for a restroom and the guy was like, Oh, here, let me take you. And he took me to he showed me where it was.

So phenomenal staff there as well. So they have the pools. They have, they're more like, I would guess like Vegas or Miami Beach. So they've got really nice plush, like little, bouncy sections around all the pools. And like right up next to the pool or these big kind of like fluffy beds. So they've got stuff all around the pools bar. They have a DJ usually out there. So there's music playing. Did you go to the bathroom that has an open window to the outside?

Oh, no. I think using it. It's over by the pool. And so you go in there and it's just a glass wall. And so it's kind of a, that's a little daunting. But when you're out at sea, who cares? But just don't do it when you're dark. Yeah. So the bars are all really good. There is a bar area also that's kind of a game area like sports bar with popcorn that they give you and shuffleboard and air hockey and foosball and TVs. And then there's an arcade. There's like a retro 1980s arcade, all free, which is not, they have,

nothing they have on another ship. So people are in there playing Pacman and driving games and all kinds of cool, you know, your older style arcade games defender and all that stuff. So that's a little room off of there as well. Um, I had high T. Now that you do have to pay for high T. So I did the high T. It was $19. But if you have two people for $19, you pick your T, you get like this tower of, uh, core joules, I guess I would call them like finger, like, uh,

finger foods and biscuits, scones, I guess would be the right term. Uh, so yeah. So high T, I did that at one of the places, the coffee shop. Oh, I gotta give you a hint at the end of the podcast. I gotta, yeah. I gotta tell you how to get free goodies. So if you're going to go, I have a, I have a hack on how to get really good free goodies. You could hold them hostage and it's so good. I have so many tips. I can say a few money. It's already a deal, but I have some really good tips.

So the coffee shop, I took selfies with them. They were awesome. So I did a coffee tasting in there, which was extra, but they give you a pound of coffee as part of the thing. So it really kind of came out to be worth it. Um, but the next, uh, cappuccino is kind of my go to. So a cappuccino on a cruise ship at the coffee shop is $4.

And then they gave me $10 worth of coffee free coffee a day to drink.

That was crazy. So yeah, $4. You're going to get coffee whether it's free or not. Oh, yeah. You're going to get a cappuccinos. So yeah, I had two cappuccinos a day. So could you get it at, you had to get it at the bar or could you order it with your meal as like a desertie cappuccino? Oh, I don't know. I guess I could have done that too, but I always just ordered it at the coffee place. So yeah. Um, it's so anyways, that, I guess that's kind of the overall thing.

It goes to, um, I just went to Cosamel and then I went to their private, well, it's not a private island. It went to Bimini Beach, which is a beach club. Uh, so that was our last stop, which is kind of they, they have this beach club. Really nice area on the beach. Lots of lounge chairs to giant swimming pools. They have food and bars where you can order drinks. And they also have sodas and all that's included. Um, and the food is really good. It's not hot dogs and hamburgers.

It's kind of like healthy but good. It's like, well, don't forget about those. little boxes. Yeah. Oh yeah. They have those boxes. So, so at the beach club, it's like, um, pork and jerk chicken and really good desserts and yuck a fries and, um, I don't even, it was just all in all kinds of really good salads with salad bar. Well, it's, it's, they make it, but you tell them what you want. And you just tell them and then they have everything and then they make it there.

And then they give to you. And it's like super quick. So it's, it's very well done. Like the food is the probably some of the best food. If not the best food I've ever had on a cruise or, or off a cruise. The food was phenomenal. Wow. Or off. It was really good. Like all the food is good. The other thing like Lisa was saying is they have bento boxes. And they also have little like coolers with these bento boxes in them. So if it's, if you just want to grab one and go, they're like made.

So if you want sushi, they make them and then they put them there and then you grab them and go or fruit, different fruit, like tropical fruit or fruit granola and yogurt or they have these little boxes. And they're like, they're like plastic versions of a Japanese bento box. And they have all kinds of cool stuff in them. Uh, and then they'll deliver them, I guess, to your room. Cause I did see a lot of room service out of people's rooms with bags of those

that they just kind of came and went. So that's super convenient too. The other thing is things are openly like I've been on other cruise ships and it's like eight or nine o'clock and it's like everything's closed. Like here, like some of those things closed at 2 a.m. Or one night the man or closed till three at 3 a.m. And then one night it was just like it just said late. So, so things are open where you where you can eat late and get things late.

And you're not like, you know, when is there anything left open? So that was nice. Really good bands, really good music. Variety shows. Um, oh, and then they have a pool party at Bemony Bay. At Bemony Beach Club, I'm sorry. Um, they have just like saying Bemony, they have like floaties and dancers and a DJ and music. So, uh, and then they have all the bars where you can use your little, uh, what is it? The little thing you wear around your wrist. I guess it's a little anchor.

Yeah. It's like a little anchor. Um, it's like a magic band. It's Virgin Voyage is like magic band equivalent. So you can pay with that and your alcoholic drinks are like $10 to maybe $14 or $15. So they're very reasonably priced. Um, yeah. I mean, everything about that cruise and everybody I talked to young old, I mean, I talked to a couple who was like in their 80s and they loved it. And I talked to a couple who just got married, uh, who just got a college and they

loved it. Um, and then people that have been on other cruise lines. Um, but it's not a Disney cruise. It's not a real crew. I mean, cruise. So you have to understand, I guess it's, it's, it's if you just want to go have fun on, on a cruise and try something different than you, I think you kind of fall into the category for it.

So I give him my one, my, my hack. My head was a couple of Virgin, so, so Virgin Voyage has something called, all right, well, first off, the pricing is ridiculous for what you get. It's so good. It's reasonable. Yeah. So it's worth, it's worth every penny to go on that on a Virgin Voyage cruise. They're going out of Miami. They're going out of Puerto Rico. They're going out of Australia. I think they might be having one going out of the UK here soon.

So I did the one out of Miami. Puerto Rico would also be easier, you know, fairly easy for the US. Um, very easy to get to Miami and to get the report. Pricing is very reasonable. Um, I can't imagine it's going to stay this low. There's always some deals. We always have deals. If you could find us at PixiVigations.com, there's black Friday deals or cyber Monday deals, there's holiday deals, there's all kinds of deals we, we're constantly talking to them and getting the latest deals.

So in addition to that, um, they have something called status matching. So if you have been on another cruise and you have status, you can get deep blue extras on Virgin Voyages and you get like, sailor loot as part of it. So this is what you get. So if you get a status match, you basically have to prove that you have status on another cruise line and then you, you email it in. You know, it's like, take a photo of this. Send your, I need to do that now because I didn't do it on my last one.

And there's no reason not to do it. You just, you need to do it. And then it takes like a week and then they go, okay, you're now matched. So you get deep blue extras. So you get $10 worth of coffee. This is per cabin per cabin per day and all is worth of coffee to drink. That, you know, or juices, you can use the, you know, the specialty juice or the coffees. It's not an alcohol. You get $100 to bar tab that you can use. So you can buy drinks. You get laundry service.

So it's a bag of laundry, which is huge. It's like six feet high. It's like a, you didn't tell me how that ended up. I got all my laundry done. Do they fold it to? Yeah. I asked for folding on some of it and hanging on others. So you have to read the fine print. So you get a bag of $30 in a theater and or I don't know, uh, two pressed items. Okay. So that's laundry, but it was only $30 to do the bag anyways. If you just did your own laundry, but you really don't need to do laundry on a

cruise that short. I did it just to try it. Um, let's see. You get the premium wifi free included. So I signed up got premium wifi. So I could call, I could post videos, um, check emails, all of that. So that's included. Um, I'm trying to think what else. Others when you check in to get on the ship, there's a kind of an expedited check in you can use. Uh, and then they have a free one hour cocktail party for everybody that is a part of deep blue extras.

And then there's also someone special on the ship that you can work with. If you want to book things or have questions or whatever that is. So yeah. So that's it. So deep blue extras. So if you have status match, all right. So it, all right, Steve, I've never been on another cruise. But I don't have any status. Here we go. So this is even better. A better. This is even better if you don't, well, I mean, if you don't have it. So get a pen right this down.

So here's what you do. If you have status at a hotel, like Hilton, all right, this is complex, but it works because I talked to someone who do this. So if you have status at Hilton, MSC cruise lines will status match Hilton. So you take your Hilton and you status match to MSC. And now you have status on MSC cruise lines. Then you take your status from MSC cruise lines and you send it to Virgin Voyages. And then you have status on Virgin Voyages. Steve, I don't have status at Hilton.

It's okay because it's even better. So you get the Hilton credit card. And when you sign up for the Hilton credit card, you have to do a little research and figure out which one. But it gives you status at Hilton. There's a credit card that you can get. You know how some of them give you like so many points or so many whatever. There's a Hilton credit card that gives you Hilton status. Just for getting the credit card and paying whatever the minimum thing is.

Then you can do it. So you just get the credit card and you get the status. Then you move to MSC and then you go to Virgin Voyages. And then you can get your deep blue extras. You get $100 with the drinks, premium Wi-Fi, and dollars with coffee, cocktail party, laundry. So that's it. It's amazing. So we have amazing deals even better than what you can get at Virgin Voyages on top of it. We can stack extra things on there. So if you're looking at going, get with us at Pixi Vacations, and we will get you,

we will hook you up with the Virgin Voyages. Oh, wait. You didn't talk about the special nights. Oh, so well, you might know someone with the first one. Well, it depends on the sailing, but you have Scarlet Knight. There is Scarlet Knight. There was extra holiday things too. So they decorated the ship with holiday decorations, Christmas trees and garland. And then at night, the ship is red and green on the inside and on the outside. Like all the decks are green and red, green and red, green and red.

And then the hallways are all green and red. And it looks so cool at night. And then they had like a special holiday show, which I, there was just so many things I didn't get to do them all. And they have holiday trivia. And so they, they definitely do it up for the holidays with different things or themes. But Scarlet Knight is, uh, it starts late. You get to stay up late. Uh, it starts on deck six and seven. And they have entertainment. All the decks are like lit up with red and different colors.

Everyone wears red. So you have to bring something red. There was also an ugly sweater night because of the holidays. Um, and then there's a pajama party, which I did not do. So I missed the pajama party. Um, but Scarlet Knight, everything's red. They have entertainers that are just mingled in as you're walking down the different decks. They have music, all things going on. And then they take it out to the pool. Did you go to the pool, Lisa? Yes. So I went to the pool.

I didn't go in the pool. Okay. So then it goes outside to the pool. And it's two decks out there. And they have music and dancers. And they have this, their mascot is this giant octopus. Well, I should know his name, but I don't. It's probably something like inky or squidier. Ollie or maybe we just called him Ollie. I think it is Ollie. Okay. So they have this giant inflatable like 40 foot octopus or something that's, that's like at one end of the pool.

And, uh, then they do this giant, they do this, uh, choreographed dancing show with music and all kinds of stuff. Um, and everybody's out there all dressed in red. Red suits, red dresses, uh, people are in the pool. Because part of the pool is like, I don't know, knee deep. Yeah. And then part of the pool is deep in the middle. So people are in the pool. It was, it's just crazy. I think it's, well, when people go into the knot, knee deep. And it starts at like 10 or 10, 30 and 45 at night at the, the pool party part.

And then it goes on late. Uh, so we were out there. It's going like crazy. It just starts their dancing and then it starts to pour down rain. And it's so windy. Like it is glowing and it is windy and it is pouring down rain. And I'm like, oh, it's going to end and nobody left. Like everybody just stood in the rain and danced. It was crazy. So I think the rain made it better, made it better. Was it hot? So, so then you go from there. And then if you go from there, you go to the banner, which is the club inside.

and then the party goes there till 3 a.m. It just goes on and on and on. So it just continues. So that was the, the one night with or any other nights you did themed things. Lisa, I think that was the, well, I'm scarlet night. You've got that whole kind of, um, ship exploration, play games. Go here to there. Yeah. I think that's how it starts. Yeah. And decks six and seven. And then it goes to the pool and then it goes to the manner. And then it runs to like three in the morning, which was more that I could

do, but I'm sure people stayed up. And, uh, casino, they've got a decent size casino. Really nice. Oh, yeah. I did like the casino. And it doesn't smell like smoke, which is also nice. Yeah. There's no smoking in their ASM because it doesn't smell like smoke. Yep. I didn't know how to play. I didn't play, but I went up to the lady. And I was like, so do I just get cash here on my room? And she's like, oh, no, you just tap your band at the table or you tap your

band on the slot machine. And then it, and then you just play. I was like, oh, I think the slot machines were face value, but I think at the tables, you have a five or three percent surcharge seven, seven holy cow. Yeah, seven percent. If you do the tap your band at the tables, um, so yeah, it's amazing. I would do it again. It was so much fun. Um, yeah, so that's virgin for ages. If you have any questions, find us over at Pixi Vacations. Uh, we will get you set up.

There are everybody and I've heard people that are starting to book Australia. They're all excited. I can't. It's just going to, there's no way they're going to be able to do what they're doing and offer what they're offering. So it's one of those things where similar to Disney, where I keep telling people, uh, the deal is never as good as it is now. And they're new. And the deal is never going to be as good as it is now. So I would go and book a 2024 virgin cruise and get it on the books because people

are going to figure it out because those people that were there, they figured it out. And they, uh, the line to rebook was crazy on that ship because they figured out this is a good deal. And then within a year, it's not going to be as good of a deal because they're going to start making some money because the demand is going to start going through the roof. But right now, nobody knows what it is. And then everybody thinks it's some weird strange cruise.

You thought it was some weird strange, I know that's the problem because it's not really weird. It's just different. It's not different. I can't. It's not even really different. I don't even know. It's not like there's a tattoo parlor on there. And then there's the, the drag queen, uh, cruise kind of director. But it's not even odd. It's, it's not. It's just, you know what's nice about that ship. Um, and I said this on my review. But tell me if you agree now that you've experienced it, it's like you're

cruising with friends. Yeah. Everybody's so like, yeah. So nice. Yeah. The gaster nice too. Cause people we weren't saying that because even like someone kept pushing the button on the elevator and the people were trying to go down and then kept opening. And the guy came out and said, Oh, hey, guys, you just got to wait a couple minutes until it closes and then then it'll, uh, another elevator will come. I guess told them. And I was like, man, and then even everybody else was like, even the guests

are so nice on this ship. Yeah. There's something about it. It's really everyone is so happy and nice on that ship. Like so happy. I don't under it. It's, it's totally different. It's really nice. It's really nice to see. So yeah. And then, uh, then it ended. And then I came back yesterday. Well, I know. But you had a great time. You were so excited every time that we would talk or text. No, it was like, oh my God. Did you know this? Did you know this?

Yeah. It's, it's, it's amazing how they've put that ship together and they have all these weird ideas and most of them really worked out well. Yeah. So I want to go again because we have to go. It's so it's, uh, if I didn't say already, which I don't think I did, it's a it's adults only. There's no kids. Um, so it's 18 and up. And 21 up to drink. So our youngest is 18. So we could actually take her. She would love it. I was sending her videos and photos and it's like, oh my God, I do.

I love this. You would love this. But no kids, which is also probably another reason people love it. I guess if they want to do it, no kid crews. So. So yeah, Virgin Voyage is Lisa. I think that's going to wrap it up. I think so. I'm trying to think the thing you'd, I don't know if you tried this or not. I told you to try it. But on the first day of the cruise, they have these pistachio macarons in the galley area. I did have the macarons. Where was I or macarons?

Oh, no. That was at a Christmas party. Oh, no. It had the pistachio and it has this, this is really with the raspberry. I did see that. They look good. They deserve like the desserts on some of those cruise lines are just like not great. The desserts on here are all unique and very good. I had the Scarlet Lady dessert, which is like a red giant Mickey Mouse colored shiny red Twinkie shape thing. It was good.

Yeah, every day. I see only one. I like, oh my gosh, you, you, you got to see this. Like I have. I couldn't eat anymore. The food was a phenomenon.

So many things that I could say about other cruise lines that I'm not going to say. It was so good. So anyways, you did to go out of verdable. You just cruise. I think we're finally done. Okay. So we're going to go ahead and wrap up the show. I would like to thank Pixi Vacations for sponsoring the podcast. If you have any comments or questions, please send those to us. Frequently Asked Questions

Is Virgin Voyages worth it?

Virgin Voyages is worth it for adults who want a modern, design-forward, adults-only cruise with included dining at every restaurant, Wi-Fi, basic drinks and tips. It's more expensive upfront than mass-market cruise lines, but because most things are included, the total trip cost is often similar. It's not the right fit if you need a kids' club, a traditional cruise experience, or the lowest possible fare.

What is included on Virgin Voyages?

Virgin Voyages includes all 20+ specialty restaurants at no extra charge, basic Wi-Fi, fitness classes (including group fitness), basic soft drinks, still and sparkling water, and all tips/gratuities. What's extra: premium alcoholic drinks, specialty drinks, spa services, shore excursions, and the Richard's Rooftop adults-only area.

Is Virgin Voyages really adults only?

Yes — Virgin Voyages is 18+ only. No kids under 18 are allowed on board. This is one of the biggest differentiators from other cruise lines and makes it a great option for couples, friend groups and solo travelers who want an adults-only experience without the family-friendly crowd.

How does Virgin Voyages compare to Royal Caribbean?

Royal Caribbean is a mass-market, family-friendly line with huge ships, waterparks, kids clubs and lots of for-extra-charge dining. Virgin Voyages is adults-only, smaller ships, design-focused, and includes all dining and tipping upfront. Royal Caribbean has more variety and activities; Virgin has a more modern, boutique vibe and simpler pricing. Different trips, both good.

Can I book Virgin Voyages through a travel agent?

Yes — Pixie Vacations books Virgin Voyages at the same price as booking direct, and we monitor every promotion and can rebook if a better rate comes out. We can also help you pick the right cabin category (Insider, Sea View, Sea Terrace, Rock Star Quarters, Mega Rock Star Quarters) based on your travel style.
