Where Is Saint Vincent and Why You Need to Visit Sandals Saint Vincent
Saint Vincent is one of the least-visited islands in the Caribbean, which is exactly what makes the new Sandals Saint Vincent & the Grenadines so special. In this MouseChat episode, Steve walks through the newest resort in the Sandals collection — the architecture, the beach, the butler suites, the over-water bar, the dining venues, and what makes Saint Vincent different from the more-traveled Sandals destinations in Jamaica, Saint Lucia and Antigua. If you want an uncrowded, authentic Caribbean experience with all the Sandals luxury, this is the one to know.

I am welcome to Mouse Chat. I'm Lisa and joining me I've got the whole game. I've got heathen, Brenda, Sharpie and Steve. Everybody's so smiley today. Sorry. Look, Caitlin's guaranteed. She's showing her to you. Brenda's trying not to laugh. Sharpie has his camera so we can't tell. I know he's smiling. He's smiling and he's on the inside. Take. Oh hi. Howdy. Hey y'all. Hi, Frans. Look at Steve being the flow. She hasn't been here in a while. One week. I know it seems like well we had a lot of shows in one week.
Oh wow. We missed you though Lisa. We always do. Thank you. So yes, I was away and I was in St Vincent. Sandals and beaches had their sandals star awards. Presentation. And so it was pretty cool. They invited several several several agencies to attend this award ceremony. And so much so that they closed the resort. It was it was a buyout or the only ones on property were agents owners agents media. Everyone in the trade. So it was it was kind of neat being with just your people. So to speak, you know, in your industry.
So I did enjoy that. And I was there I think for five nights. And it is a long flight. I did connect in Miami. So Atlanta Miami is about. Well, it's about two hours on the clock. And then another three hours Miami to St Vincent. Where St Vincent? St Vincent is in the Eastern Caribbean. It is in. Do you know where the Grenadines are? Grenadine Islands. I think I've had that on a drink. No, you did. Yes, but it's never. Is there comes from? Yes. Really? Yeah, they have this little mountain that has a stream that comes down.
is a mountain of Grenadine. Yes. Well, not the mountain. The stream. Yeah, Grenadine. That's where it was discovered. Yes. And they've been bottling it ever since. Is that except Barbados? Yes. It's in those very tropical. Yes. It's way it's a way. Like I never even heard of St Vincent. Yeah. Well, it's not terribly commercial yet. I saw two other resorts and they didn't look fantastic by any stretch. No offense to those resorts, but they. There is absolutely nothing on that entire island that is a tenth of what that sandals resort is.
It is phenomenal. It is. It could very well be my new favorite sandals resort. And that is saying something. Yeah. Yes, they're 18th. Yeah, they they have big plans to keep growing and to keep doing bigger and better. We're not necessarily bigger, but better, definitely better. And I was I was impressed across the board. So you land in St Vincent. Yes. They usually have is helicopter. They know how they don't have helicopter transfer. No, I did ask if that was an option and they
said not yet. Oh, so eventually. Well, it's not out of the question and they just don't have it yet because it is so new. This opened up at the end of March. When and March, you remember, like the 27th. Yeah. March 27th. Look at that. And all loans two months ago. So what they've done is of course with sandals, you get your transfers from the airport. They pick you up and then they take you to the resort. And if you book a butler category, you don't have to do the hour plus windy windy car ride through the mountains to get to the sandals
resort, which is fine. It's just long and windy. How long, how long are you in the transfer for? It was over an hour. I would I wouldn't say an hour and a half, but it was over an hour. And it's funny because it was dark at like six o'clock. And you know, the sun was setting. We're like, wow, what the heck would have been light until because you know, they're a lot closer to the equator and it's very different. Yeah. But if you book a butler category, they're going to start you off in one of
the shuttles. And then you just ride for a little bit, but then they take you to this little dockside port where you're going to transfer to a boat. And then the boat will take you to the sandals resort and drop you off right at the sandals dock. Well, yeah. Okay. Well, I'm very classy compared to like going to like Jamaica like all right. So like South Coast on that road. So very similar. All right. So if you've been to Jamaica and you've been like over
the mountain and around, that kind of thing. Yeah, it's it's purely it's mostly coastline. You know, where you're doing the yeah, you know, you're going to see the water most of the time. It was pretty. Yeah, it was very great. It was like a free tour. Well, if you get a good tour guide, yes, so we got to see the one castle on the island. That's not really a castle, but it looks like a castle to private residence. We got to see like a valley, a top-down valley look. And it kind
of looks like Italy. You know, it looks like some Italian village that, you know, they've got these colorful houses and that's cool. Pretty neat. But the ride, it will be a little long. Don't expect 20 minutes in your there. It's going to take a little bit. But that was fabulous. It was absolutely fabulous. But the ride's nothing like going through the the village like when you're in Jamaica and you're having to go through the village to get to South Coast. You do. You go through some
residential areas. You you go through. So it is if I didn't know I was in St. Vincent, I would have thought I was in Jamaica. But you're it's very similar. And but you're 80% of the time in view of the water. So you're going on the upper rim around the mountain. You know, following the coastline, you go south to, I think it's Kingston. And then and then you go up to the west and then up toward the sandals resort. So so you get there to what kind of rums did you get? Well, I'm going to tell
you about, I mean, it's like walking into another world. When when you get on property, they have the long driveway and they have all the flags out front for all of their their countries that have either a sandals or beaches. And they have a US flag as well. And it's just breathtaking. It's open and bright. And it's in a valley. And you've got mountains on both sides of you. Mountains behind you. You're like in this private valley. And it's like 50 acres, I believe. It's pretty cool.
Definitely. So we checked in went to our room. We were escorted to our room. And our room was, let me get the proper name for it. So they have a couple different new rooms. They have some that have fitness centers built in. Yeah, we had the entertainment centers built in. We had the entertainment center. So we had the sister room to the in-sweet fitness. Some people obviously did have the fitness rooms where you've got like a front room. And it has a couch. Actually, no,
this one doesn't. It has two exercise bikes. It does have like a wall unit with some shelving. You're going to have your TV built in there. You're also going to have some towels. And then behind you on the opposite wall, you've got some free weights, some dumbbells. And they they turn this into a little fitness room. Pretty good. Mine again was not a fitness room. But mine was the same layout. But my front room was an entertainment room, which had the TV. But it then had a
couch against the wall and still the free weights. And then the middle of the floor was the middle of the floor. It was nice. It was very nice. Very nicely decorated. You've got your neutrals,
a little bit of your beige tones and your your tans. And then your ribbing colors. So I love love that our room was very spacious. It was too big. Is that is that possible? Yeah, I don't know. Because you know, you've got that front area when you first walk in. Yep. And then you have a huge bathroom. You have all kinds of closet storage space. Oh, they have those ridiculous bathrooms in sandals. They do. So you're going to have this this shower that is probably five feet wide by 10 feet long, three different shower heads.
You've got this the rain one above you and then two other optional shower heads.
Just amazing. It was amazing. Double sinks. Nice counter. And then there's the tub. You've got your soaking tub in there as well. But that's not your only soaking tub. You're going to have another soaking tub out on the balcony. And did you use it? I did not. I did not. You know, that is that that's a travesty Lisa. I know it sounds like some kind of excuse or you know, like a line, but I didn't have time. And I thought six days would be way too much time.
And it was not because we did have a lot of things that we had to do. Plus, I was there gathering content. And I'll try and hit everything that I did. But I hate I don't even know if I should say I did not put a swimsuit on one time. No, no, I didn't. And so that just means I have to go back. There you go. Thank you. All the free water sports and all that. Right. They do. They do indeed. They have a scuba center where you can get certified. You can also do like a shallow water
certification, which isn't the full blown. But let me they don't have.
Right. I think I didn't spend a whole lot of time on the beach. But there are a lot of beach front rooms with their own plunge pool. Right. Right as you walk out. So it's between you and the beach. Such amazing things that this resort provides. So little known fact, when sandals acquired this property in 2020, it had sat vacant since 2016. And at that time sandals had announced that it would become their next beaches resort. Yeah, remember, which I felt like it would be great
if they made another beaches because their beaches resort. So beaches are for families. So it's all inclusive family resorts and that's their brand. And then sandals is for couples. So it's like honey moons or weddings or just a couple that wants to get away or just a friend couple or whoever wants to go. But it's not for kids. So. But then I thought a family getting to St Vincent, not easy. I mean, it's you're not wrong. Yeah, the destination is it's like a cool, unspoiled, like waterfalls. It looks like in tropical, you know, tropical forest
and really cool, like hidden gem type of getaway. So much, it's much cheaper to put a beaches in Jamaica and have affordable airfare for a family of four and plus the lights a lot easier than to go all the way to St Vincent. So I'm kind of glad free flowing Grenadine didn't have anything to do with keeping the kids away. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That would have been awesome. Originally, they were talking about a beaches and I thought, oh, that's great. But then
the reality of it, I feel like is not, it would have not been good. It needs to be close. It needs to be like in the Bahamas for a beaches or it needs to be in Jamaica or somewhere in that general area. I wish they would do that too. I think it'd be amazing. Well, they do have more sand beaches that are on the drawing table. We just have to wait for them. Yeah. So the rooms, fresh, vibrant, huge, absolutely huge. You know, there's a the main bedroom area has the King bed and it's just
excessive space. So it is more, so much more than a couple would need. And yeah, you've got your right off the entertainment room is a wet bar type area with the fridge. And so they stock that. And of course, they're going to stock it with your favorite beverages. The staff was every single person was wonderful. It was, it was a joy to be, it was just so wonderful to be there. And you know, sometimes we have our issues elsewhere. And it was just, it was lovely.
It was absolutely lovely. They've got lots of cabanas that you can do, lots of swimming areas. It's amazing. Yeah. Okay. So you got words escape me. Nice room. Nice. Each area. Yeah, the beach is really nice as well. And we had several events out on the beach. We had some entertainment that was brought in, which was wonderful. Just everything. We also had a sandals version of the amazing race. I have some video because they only had like, they did it by region. So the southeast and the southwest, actually, no, I think they just did
the west, the northeast. So they had like five teams. And Pixie was on one of those teams are very own Julie Davies. Oh, Julie's. Yes. She was recruited last minute because the southeast was short one person. And it worked out very well because their first task was in the gym. And she had to do pushups. Oh, Julie is a fitness guru. So the pushups were no problem for her. She's like, give me more. Give me more. So it was, it was really cool. And then the whole amazing race ended with
in the water. Synchronized swimming. So I have video, but it was, it was so much fun. It was so hot. I bet Julie killed it. She did fit person. Yeah. Well, and then she's like, wait, I have flip flops on. Can I go get in there? Like, no, there's no time. So she's trying to run the course and flip flops. I'm following the entire team on a bike because they have bikes everywhere. So it was easy. Well, sort of easy for me to try and keep up and figure out where they're going. But it was,
it was really good. And then out of the five teams, southeast came in number one. Whoo. That's good. We're in the southeast. We are in the southeast. So amazing. Our team won. We did a good job. Very good. I say we. I was like, they're cheerleader.
So nice. They have the bikes everywhere, which is nice. You just grab it if you see it and then you leave it and someone might grab it or it might be there later. You never know. Okay. The bikes are nice. Oh, what kind of restaurants? Anything new that you want to? I did. So one of the new places is Isola. I hope I'm saying this right. This is their pizza place. And it's, it was good pizza. We just got a cheese pizza because we wanted to try it. But it was yummy.
We ate that. But it's in the same building as another restaurant. And that's I'm more. I am. Oh, and this is like custom salad place. And you order your protein. You, you, you let them know what kind of lettuce you want. Your toppings, your dressing. We actually went there three times. Uh, that was, that was yummy. Is it like rice or noodles or lettuce? Let us. Okay. Yeah. Let us. It looks delicious. I'm like looking it up as you're talking. And they both like all of these restaurants look so good. All right. So do you want the insider tip
or when you order your salad? Yes. So because it is in the same building, literally in the same like based on the same counter as the pizza place, they didn't have bacon bits at the salad place. However, you could get bacon bits on your pizza. So I asked, can I get some? And they said, yeah. And then they had different cheeses. And I asked for mozzarella cheese. So like, yeah, we could do that. I got olives. I got things that weren't supposed to be on my salad on my salad.
Oh, that worked out well. That's nice. There you go. So that's right. That's the beauty of an all inclusive is like sky's the limit. It doesn't matter. Yeah. You can do whatever you want. Julie was getting double chicken. Why not? You know, you can. So we did go to Scrimshaw. And that is more of a seafood upscale seafood fancy type restaurant. I was beautiful. I ended up getting, oh, I got a ribeye. I got a ribeye there. And it was served on horse radish. So and it had some cooked carrots. But I still ate it. Aren't you proud of me?
Yes. It was on the horse radish. Okay. But I did all right. That was very tasty. We ended up eating outside for that one. It was it was it was not bad eating outside. I did come home with four bug bites that I can see. So make sure you bring your bug spray when you go to any Caribbean or Mexico resort. Because the bugs are out there. So that was Scrimshaw. Some of the other things that they had, they were they were all seafoody, of course. Julie, Julie got oh. So we went with Lisa another
agent. Another agency owner actually and she ended up getting the snapper. And the snapper was meant for two people because it's an entire snapper fish. And they deep fry it as is whole. And then it comes out. And it's like sitting up and looking at you. And she said it was delicious. So they have that. And they had the roasted cauliflower. I know you like that. That was really tasty. And then it had some some like no grittin' indeed. It had like a chime cheery puree type thing on top. So that
was good. There's another restaurant that's kind of unique. I've never heard of it before. But it's called Yucan. You can. You can. B-U-C-C-A-N. I keep thinking of pecan and it's Yucan. And it's a family style restaurant. I went in there. It's outdoors. And there were four tables that could seat between, I'd say 10 give or take a person or two. And this was family style. But it was very on the edge. And they have two seedings per night. One at like 6 30 and one at 8 30. We could not get in there.
We couldn't get a reservation. But I did get some pictures and I'll get some information out. So you can watch for that. Let's see. Oh, parasol. Parasol was the outdoor kind of like the beach cafe. Because it was down by the water and had your burgers, you know, a couple of salads. It had your snacky, not snacky. But you're more of your beach bar food. And it was actually really good. I ended up getting a burger and some fries. But then they had like an appetizer. We got some,
some vegetable sticks and I had some ranch and some hummus that came with it. But fresh peppers, sweet peppers and then some celery and something else was in there. I think probably carrots. But it was nice to be able to just get this nice little rutudet plate. So that was good. Did you do any excursions? I'm not done with the restaurants. You have more restaurants. So we went to butches, which we do know butches. Yeah, the steakhouse. That's most of their resort. Yes. And they highly recommended again,
a ribeye. So I did get the ribeye and a baked potato. That was wonderful.
Oh, Sora, we did Sora the first night. That's the Italian place. And I ended up getting a pasta dish that was braised beef, like a short rib, with mushrooms and this very, very rich sauce over noodles. It was, it was fantastic. It was so delicious. I was surprised. And again, I was with Lisa. Another, another agent that was there. And we split a chicken parmesan. That was wonderful. So everything was really good. We ended up going to Sora, which is the Italian place
for breakfast every day because that's where they had the breakfast buffet. So you need to make sure that you know, you know, it's not going to cross your mind. Oh, let's go to the Italian restaurant for breakfast. But that's where they had the whole buffet spread out. Bloom is the coffee shop. And they have some gelato in there as well. They serve Jamaican coffee. And a lot of times when I go to different places, if it's, if it's not Starbucks, I'm not terribly thrilled. So I do like going
on a row, Caribbean cruises because they have Starbucks available. But other places, you just get this generic type coffee. Well, this was so amazing. It was really good. Plus they had pastries. They had a coffee cake, a fresh coffee cake, cinnamon coffee cake. They also have this apple muffin that everyone was raving about. And it was really good and moist with little chunks of apple. That was good. But the bloom coffee shop, I can definitely get behind that. There was another
shop out by the shore that was called cream. And this was ice cream and coffee. So it's kind of of the same thing, but in a different location. One was up by the lobby. One was down by the beach. And you know, they had the same type of things, very good stuff. And then of course, Steve's jerk shack. I love the church. Yeah. Jamaican jerk chicken, pork. So if you are familiar with Sandals resorts, Sandals and beaches, you might know that they frequently have a lot of cats walking around, making friends with all the guests. They didn't have
cats here. They had dogs. They had dogs walking around. They were not a nuisance. They were timid. They were never threatening. But it's a good thing to know. They have dogs that walk around on the beach. And they sleep out by the pool deck. And they sleep under the lounge chairs. Right now there's anywhere from 5 to 10 because it varies. But when they first got the resort, it was they had 25 dogs. And they did find them places to go, homes. But then they said
within days, the dogs came back. So I don't know how that happened. But so that's why they have like five, I have to eat dogs right now. So they're kind of filled that out for the dog geese. They're they're taken care of. If they want love, they can get love. Yeah. They get food, trust me with all the guests. That's why they keep coming back. Exactly. Yeah. There was one that probably needed a little medical attention. But in talking with some of the sandals people,
there are some people that are definitely taking care of those those dogs. And there are some that said, yeah, it is kind of annoying. I wish they weren't here. So you've got a mix. It's like you wouldn't necessarily feel like I feel about the cats. I love the cats. I love them all. You wouldn't like exuma then. Sandals exuma has little cat houses. They have like, they've made like little cat condos and they have places on the feeding station. Yeah. And they
have food and water and places for them to sleep. They're like little houses throughout the resort, just for the cats. I love animals. I love dogs obviously, but I don't know. The cats at the resort sometimes scare me because I don't want them to like scratch me. That's what they do. They look at you and they're like, I'm going to scratch her when she's not looking. Well, you just never know. That's right. That's right. Good to have peacocks. No peacocks. No peacocks. They had
a tennis court. They had pickleball courts. They had lots of little pools. Okay. So this was so cool. They have these pathways. So if you can imagine when you're looking toward the ocean, they have two tall five story, let's call them high rise type where they've got a lot of rooms. I was in one of those. And then they have the cottages, which are essentially duplexes. And the duplexes are on, on like streets. It's like, you know, when you're going through like
universal Hollywood or the Warner Brothers studios and they take you on the back lot where they have the fake houses and stuff and everything is perfect. That's what this look like. It was so beautiful with the greenery and everything in really good shape. And it was, it was like a quaint little town. And then little bikes here and there and people riding the bikes, dogs walking about, you were like in a little town. It was, it was beautiful. They do have a nice
shop. I like the shop. I did come home with a few things. They have a convention type center, like a business center where we did hold some conferences. It was quite adequate. If you, you know, need to have some kind of business meeting and you want a nice place to go because it is in the end, all right off, we can tell you all about that. They have a wedding pavilion or like an over-the-water wedding chapel, I should say. So they have that. And it's beautiful because you get the
sunset in the background. So if you do a sunset time, the pictures are going to be phenomenal. I have some pictures that I'm going to be posting. So incredible, absolutely. They also have, they're not done yet, but they're going to be done soon. But they have 10 over-the-water two-story villas. And so there are five units and these are also duplexes. So they're, you know, one building and two sides. And they face, they kind of face the water like most traditional
villas and bungalows do. But they're, they also kind of face the resort and the wedding pavilion, or the wedding chapel. So normally you're facing out into the wide open ocean here, you're not. So I think there's a little less of a privacy factor with these. But they look amazing. They've got um, you know, the two stories you've got kind of a living area on one level and a bedroom area on another. So that was lovely. Trying to think what else? Entertainment areas, they've got
areas where they can set up and have entertainment, whether it's singing or, you know, sometimes they have little shows. So they've got all that. It, I can't say enough good things about this because I was so impressed. So impressed. So I see they have a rain concierge.
Hmm. I don't know what that one that you can, someone you can contact on a rainy day and they can deliver snacks to your room. No. Games, books. Well, that's fun. I didn't know that. Yeah, we did have rain one day, but it was like an on an off-range. So it was refreshing. So we're trying to do excursions. I did. I did one excursion and that was in conjunction with the Sandals Foundation and the Sandals Foundation is
they donate to local communities, local needs. They do and support different programs, whether it's reading to school children or helping children with their school supplies and painting the school. They help with local gardening projects. But this particular project was, it's brand new. And let me, let me get the exact name of it.
Okay. So I did go on an excursion and my excursion was with the Sandals Foundation. And for the last 15 years, the Sandals Foundation has helped to support and empower different communities. It could be as simple as having people go to read to children or maybe we bring school supplies to help support the education system. There could be planting plants or learning about music. So there's all kinds of different things that the Sandals Foundation does to help
the communities where they have their resorts. And the one for St. Vincent is it's a brand new concept. As far as I understand and what they're doing is they're trying to help
men who have been incarcerated yet on a better path, give them more of a future, keep them out of trouble. And so we went to this brand new house that they built specifically for this group of men. And they don't live there. It's simply their kind of headquarters. And there will be a gift shop. But what these men do is they go out and they gather the straw or the grasses, the grasses and they take the grasses and they braid them into different thicknesses. And so some are thick, some are thinner. And they probably got four different
size ropes that they end up making. And then they let these ropes dry. And then they use those to weave baskets, coasters, rugs. They are so amazing with what they do. You can get a purse, hats. I'm just thinking about they have these like trash bins. I mean, they're like circular type bins. I don't want to come to trash bins. But they do all these wonderful projects. And it takes them quite a while for the whole process. But it's keeping these guys busy and giving them a little bit of
I don't know purpose. And and keeping them really neat. It is. And I did end up coming home with a couple of items, even though technically their gift shop, they have a gift shop, but it's not stocked or even open yet brand new Sandals Foundation program. And but they as long as they got a picture of what we wanted to buy so they could reproduce it. We could buy things. And I did. And so we're going to have a follow up on that because I do have an item that I'll be giving away. But it will be
based on donations. So I haven't figured out all the details. But I'm going to do something with that to try and help these guys out a little more in the Sandals Foundation. So we will be collecting and for the foundation so that we can give this basket away. So it was so heartwarming. And these guys, yeah, super, super cool. Yeah. I really like that they have the Sandals Foundation. I mean, it's a cool way for guests and travel agents or whoever to give back.
Well, everyone, everyone can give back because it can be the community. It's not always about the money. It's about volunteering. Sometimes it's about donation, but not always that way everyone can do
what else didn't I talk about? Did you, was there a spa or did you? There was, there was a spa. So they at the Sandals and beaches resorts, they have red lane spas and this one was no exception. They had a beautiful spa and it is actually in the front like before the actual resort. So you you go off a little bit and they've got a room for nails, pedicures and manicures. They have another room for brides to get their hair and makeup done or anyone for that matter. You don't
have to be a bride. And then they have lots of treatment rooms and I did get facial while I was there. Oh, very nice. Yeah, I like to try different things when I'm there. And I also did. It was a Himalayan salt massage. So I did that and they have these hot salt blocks and they use those to massage you. And so the best thing about it, of course, is their warm, but then they're also salt. And so they were just the tiniest bit scratchy. So it was like getting scratched
nicely the whole time. So that was nice. Like it's fully. It was almost it was almost like that, but it's not meant to be like that because you can tell that there's smooth blocks, but just a couple of things kind of, you know, sticking out made it. Oh, wait, I had a niche. I didn't know I had a niche. So it wasn't for exfoliating. There's supposed to be superpowers in the Himalayan salt. So it was it was nice. It was a very nice treatment. They had, gosh, they had probably a dozen
treatment rooms, but then they also have outdoor locations that were they were right next to the river. There's a river that runs right through the resort. And so the sound, of course, is going to be fabulous, relaxing. And and so the spa was great. Spa was wonderful. Well, I'm glad you at least did the spa since you didn't put your swimsuit on the entire time at least you had some stock time. Yes, I did go to the spa. You know, it was part of it. It's it's it sounds silly and
selfish, whatever, but learning something each time about the spa. And I try to do something special each time. And this time it was Himalayan salt. And it was neat. It doesn't sound selfish and women need to stop saying that. Yeah, you deserve that. I mean, you deserve to have some special time. You didn't do a lot of other stuff. I mean, you didn't do like a lot of the water sports and stuff like that. You deserve some special time. It was nice. Be able to do that for yourself.
That's right. Thank you. Welcome. All right. But that that I think is my trip. I tell me how much it was later. It wasn't bad. It wasn't bad. So Steve, she deserved it. All right. Just tell and if he really wants it, I just look at this and cry, cry softly in the corner. It's okay. Okay. So one thing that I did, I was, as I mentioned with one of our agents, Julie, and I asked her name three bad things about your experience so far. And she said, well, they have
220 electric and I didn't bring enough converters. And I said, that's it. She's like, I can't think of anything else. And she couldn't. She didn't come up with anything else. Well, that's good to know. Yeah. So make sure that you have the the converters that you need. They so our room had, I think one or two, one tens, but then the rest were 220s. And so we needed converters. Oh, she did tell me one more. Also dealing with electric. There were no outlets in the bathroom.
That's weird. Interesting. For a new resort. Yeah. Hair dryers. Well, part of the resort is new. Part of the resort is renovated from a previous resort. Yeah. So they did have a hair dryer. I bet they have a big UK like Barbados had a big UK following. It was like 60% UK when I was there and 40% US. Yeah. We for the awards aspect of this, they did have UK agencies there as well. They had UK Latin America, Canada and US. Mm hmm. Those are the big there were no outlets anywhere in the bathroom, not on the sides of the light
pictures or anything knows like zero. Yeah. So you if you had to blow your hair dry, you just went in the main room. Yeah. Just went on. You just went outside on the balcony. Just went on the port. Yeah. And then two seconds later, it was dry. Yeah. Yeah. It was it was very it was very warm. I don't think what else? Did you get an award? No. No award for you. No. We got like the thanks for showing up award. The participation trophy, but it wasn't a trophy. It was just a verbal and grads.
Well, they send you the trophy later. Well, I don't think we get a participation one. No, they send you the awards later. They don't hand you the award at the thing. Yeah, they do. Yeah, but they they take those back. Nobody don't. Yeah, they do. I don't know. Maybe. Last time they mailed the awards. It's like at the other award surveys. They just kind of hand you in any way. That's it. Anyways, keep going. I think so as far as the flight was at a pretty easy,
like, you know, you went to Miami just a little bit later. You had the flight. It wasn't like a big huge layover or anything like that. It was pretty easy when they had to go to right. I think I got in and my flight going in was a little late. So I got in at like 11 30 a.m. And my flight was at two to 30. So it was enough time to, well, I went to the lounge and I worked. So I got some things done. Yeah, it wasn't a bad layover. It was a long day. I'm not going to kid
anyone. You know, it's a long day. I think I was up at four or five that morning, probably five. And then out of the house on the road. And then I didn't get to the resort until probably seven. And then on the way home. Oh, this was hard. We had to get our luggage outside by 3 30 and in the lobby by 4 30 a.m. A.m. Oh my goodness gracious. Yeah, that's an early one. Yeah. But mercy. That's okay. And then I didn't get home until 9 30 10 o'clock. Because of the layovers and whatever. Yeah. And then my flight home was delayed. We had weather in
in Atlanta. So it was. Yeah, the like if you're going in Jamaica or whatever, the thing is, if you put one of the resorts, it's a ways away from the airport. And if you have an early flight, they're going to tack on three hours. Well, it had a good drive before that. Yeah, because you got the drive and then they and then they also want to get you to the airport two to three hours early for internet. Yeah, you got to the international. So yeah, so it's a lot. So I always try to take a
flight if you're booking your own flights in the afternoon. If you can, at least on the way back. And one of the nice things is when sandals resort pops up somewhere, they meet with the airlines. to push for more flights, more frequent flights. And sometimes it's just like three times a week or something like that. But they make it sandals helps make it so we can get there by negotiating with the airlines saying that this is a worthwhile place to route. And it's true.
But that's all any other questions from you guys. Well, we painted. I want to pack a badge and go. Yeah, yeah. It's it's wow. It really is. I feel like sandals just keeps raising the bar. And that's what they're trying to do. They're all their rooms and they're they're innovations that they're doing. And they, I mean, it was already amazing. So it just keeps getting better and better, which I'm excited about. Yeah, their, their new outlook is value versus cost. Because they're like, we're not going to
kid anyone. We cost a lot. But the value is there. Oh, yeah. That's what they're talking about. So with that, I'm going to go ahead and wrap up the show. Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Saint Vincent?
Saint Vincent is an island in the southern Caribbean, just north of Grenada and south of Saint Lucia. It's the main island of the country Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Most US travelers fly through Barbados, Miami or Fort Lauderdale to Argyle International Airport (SVD), and the Sandals resort is a short transfer from the airport.
What makes Sandals Saint Vincent different from other Sandals resorts?
Sandals Saint Vincent is one of the newest properties in the collection, which means the rooms, technology, and amenities are brand new. Saint Vincent itself is a less-touristed island, so the beaches are quieter and the surrounding area feels more authentically Caribbean than the busier Sandals destinations. It has a distinctive overwater bar and butler-level suites that feel more boutique than Sandals' larger properties.
Is Sandals Saint Vincent all-inclusive?
Yes — like every Sandals resort, Saint Vincent is fully all-inclusive. Unlimited premium spirits, wines, all dining at every restaurant, tips/gratuities, 24-hour room service in qualifying suites, non-motorized watersports, entertainment and all land sports are included. Scuba diving is included for certified divers. Butler service is included in butler-tier suites.
How do I get to Sandals Saint Vincent?
You'll fly into Argyle International Airport (SVD) on Saint Vincent. Connections are typically through Miami, Barbados, or Saint Lucia on American Airlines, interCaribbean, or Caribbean Airlines. Sandals includes round-trip airport transfers with every booking when you use a certified Sandals travel agent.
Is Sandals Saint Vincent worth visiting?
Yes — especially for couples who have already done the busier Jamaica or Saint Lucia Sandals properties and want a quieter, more authentic Caribbean experience. The newness of the resort is a big selling point, and Saint Vincent's uncrowded beaches and local culture make it a standout in the Sandals collection.
