This week on Mouse Chat, we’re tackling one of the most fun (and most asked-about) traditions at Walt Disney World: Drinking Around the World at Epcot. If you’ve ever wandered through Epcot’s World Showcase and wondered what it’s like to sip your way from Mexico to Canada, this episode is your friendly Disney-fan crash course. We share what it is, how to do it the smart way, and our favorite drink stops at every pavilion.
What We Cover This Week
First up, we explain what “Drinking Around the World” actually means. It’s a longtime Epcot tradition where adult guests visit each of the 11 World Showcase pavilions — Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, The American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, and Canada — and grab a small drink at each country. It’s not an official Disney challenge, just a fun way to experience the food and culture around the lagoon. We talk about why it’s so popular during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and how the smaller “festival-size” drinks at the booths make it easier (and more affordable) than ever.
Next we share our favorite drink at each pavilion. We’re talking the frozen margarita and Avocado Margarita at La Cava del Tequila in Mexico, the Viking Coffee at Norway, the plum wine and sake flights at Japan, the icy slushes in Italy and France, the Grey Goose Slush from Les Halles, and of course a cold pint at the Rose & Crown in the UK. We also call out a few non-alcoholic options — boba tea in China, virgin mojitos in Morocco, Joffrey’s specialty coffees — because Drinking Around the World works just as well as Sipping Around the World for kids, designated drivers, and anyone who’d rather skip the alcohol.
Then we get into our Drinking Around the World tips and rules of the road: start at one end of the lagoon and work your way around in one direction so you’re not zig-zagging, eat real food along the way (the Food & Wine and Flower & Garden festival booths are perfect for this), drink water between stops, pace yourself, and always — always — book a resort hotel or rideshare so you’re not driving. We also talk about why this is best as a “no-park-day add-on”: skip the rope drop, sleep in, and arrive at Epcot in the afternoon when World Showcase opens.
Finally, we share where Drinking Around the World fits into a bigger Disney trip. It’s a great last-night activity at the end of a park-heavy week, a fun adults-only date during a multigenerational trip while grandparents take the kids back to the resort, and a clever way to enjoy Epcot if you’re sailing on Disney Cruise Line and have a pre- or post-cruise night in Orlando. We also chat briefly about the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2026 dates, what’s new this year, and how Annual Passholders can save with the festival passport and merchandise discounts.
