and welcome to the most fun music I'm joining you. Happy, Payton, Sharpey and Steve. Hey Lisa. Hi friends. Hi Bounds. Hi Dee. Everyone doing all right today? I'm doing great. Oh, ho, ho. OK, that works. All right, so we're so excited. Even I are anyway. Hopefully everyone else is excited too, but we'll be talking about the new Disney treasure. Steve and I had the opportunity to go on that. It's a cruise ship. Yes. I didn't say that. Disney Cruise Lines newest ship in the fleet.
The treasure. Is it number six? Six. There used to be two. Yeah. There used to be none. And then there were four. Yeah, it used to be the big red boat that they subbed out. And then they actually built some ships. And then they built some bigger ships. Oh. And they built some bigger ships. And that's where we are now. So the treasure is a sister ship to the Disney wish. And that one came out, was that only a year ago? Or was that two? That was one year.
Was that a year ago? It seems like it was longer. It seems like it was two years ago. Two years ago. Two years ago. Two years ago. That sounds good. And it did not disappoint. I can talk about all the different aspects. I just have to be triggered, which is why I have my deck plan out. And we can talk about all the different things that we experienced. So the ship is doing seven night sailings out of Port Canaveral, which is in Florida, right? Correct.
Seven nights. Correct. And the wish does the shorter sailings. If you want to do a test drive of a cruise, do the wish. And if you want to do the full on one week cruise, because I feel like when you do the short cruises, you like unpack and then you're packing. And you feel sad. And also, it's a lot rougher seas on a shorter cruise, which we did this one as a short cruise. So it's like the first night, they're booking out of Port Canaveral on its wavy after dinner.
And because they're trying to get to some places a wet quicker and then on the way back, it's super wavy. So that definitely happened, which I only really experienced on the shorter cruises. That was unusual weather that we are, I guess, seas that we experience. Yeah, it was pretty rough just at night when they start cranking it. So anyway, but yeah, it's out of Port Canaveral, which has a really beautiful, dedicated terminal. So if you've ever been on some of these cruise ships,
they could just be in some random terminal somewhere that like does. Like a shared terminal thing. Yeah, that just does like cargo or something. And then they put up some temporary tables. But this is a beautifully done, dedicated terminals are really nice. It doesn't do everything. And they have a nice, dedicated terminal in Lardil. Yeah. So you can go out of there now, not with this ship. No, not with this one. So where do we start? Do we start with dining or shows or characters?
Where do we start? Let's start with the dining. Yeah, with the theme, when you first walked on, what is it like? Yeah, what was your initial reaction? How did you feel? So things are a little darker on this ship, which is fine, because it's just a different motif. It is very similar to the lobby that you have on the wish. It's huge and open. It's probably one, two, three or four decks tall. Yes, three stories tall. So it's deck three, four and five.
And then you have a grand staircase. Yeah, and then you have the iconic statue that represents the treasure. Well, and adventure. Right, but the iconic statue here is a laden and jasmine on magic carpet. Yes. And so there are kind of the mascots of the ship. And they have a little, what is it? The genie's lamp is also there off to the side. I like how they add that. Kind of like the wish they've got Cinderella. Yes. And then they've got Lucifer and then the mice.
And the mice and the shoe. And the shoe? Yes. So when you enter the main lobby, again, you've got a big open area. There is a stage off to the right, which is unlike the fantasy in the dream where you normally have an elevator shaft. There is no central midship elevator shaft. There's only forward and aft. And now they're utilizing that space that was utilized by that mid ship elevator for other things. So they have a stage there. And then they have a balcony up on the fifth floor.
Yeah, they learned, I think, from the other ships. Because on the other ships, they would always try to do things in the lobby. And they still do things in the lobby. But on the carpet. So now they have a dedicated stage. So that makes it nicer, because they learned from the new ships or from the older ships, like, hey, we should probably have a stage here. Because we do little things on the lobby. And then the characters on their own used to go up to the different balcony levels
between the elevators and wave or do things. And then they'd have to rope them off and whatever, because they kind of found these little cool places. So now those are dedicated themed places for characters. And then normally to the left, you have a main dining room. But here, you have a split main dining room. And this is 1923. They have a Roy Room and a Walt Room. And we'll talk about that, I suppose. We got to eat there the first night. Yeah, the nice thing that does this weird thing
with the ship layout, which people don't like, which I understand why they don't like it. But it's nice for the dining rooms. Instead of having these giant dining rooms, they split them in two. And then they put the, I assume they put the kitchen in the middle. So the kitchen is serving the left and right side. And then you feel like you're in a much smaller restaurant for a larger ship. A hallway is in the middle. I think it's in the back. Well, yeah, the hallways in the middle of 1923,
but on the other ones, I think it's on that long walkway on the left or whatever, for cocoa and marvel or whatever. But the way they've got them set up is because most ships have these gigantic dining rooms. Here, they're just kind of split into smaller areas. It makes a little more quaint or a large ship. Yeah, it doesn't seem as overwhelming and it does seem more intimate. Mm-hmm. Okay. So we've got that dining room. When we did get on the ship,
the first thing everyone wants to do is,
and most people go up to the buffet in the case of the treasure and the wish. It's a marcelene market. And we didn't go there. We went to Plaza de Coco, which is the equivalent of the Airendelle restaurant on the wish and they had table service menu dining available for lunch. And that was pretty good. Yeah. And we got a sneak peek at the venue, which was… It was amazing. It was like you were in Mexico. That was really good. By brand, what did you like that you had there?
Gosh, going way back to that meal. So many, well, they have, like at dinner, they have similar to Airendelle words, like what Norwegian food, which is a little odd for cruise meal. And Plaza de Coco, they have like traditional Mexican food. Mm-hmm. And July does P-Fepinata, yeah, for dinner. And then you had maybe a black bean soup. We had that really good drink that I… Oh, yeah. That was the rice milk. That was really good. Ooh. Rice milk with vanilla.
And it has like cinnamon. Oh, and this cinnamon. Pork chata. Yes, so I knew you'd know. There you go. Sharpie knows too. And Debbie probably knows. I was chasing my tail over my brain. I'm like, what's in that thing? It was so good. Anyways, but the overall theme of the ship is like adventure, treasure. It's darker, more masculine tones. It's like Arabian nights kind of feeling right. It's got that Morocco kind of vibe with mosaic, small mosaic tiles and lanterns
dark gold accents and purples and blues. And it's really cool. And the carpets are all done with the little scarab and the magic carpet and the carpet and swirls. And then we're gonna jump all over the place. I thought we could come in with structure. We're not, but speaking of the carpets outside, we were on deck nine. Mm-hmm. And on deck nine, the carpet was blues and purples and butterflies and leaves. And I thought like, Oh, well, yeah, the state room hallways are all different
because they're each floor or each several floors is a different adventure theme. Yeah. Well, we were waiting to see. So ours was, but we were waiting to see one of the suites and we noticed it was Lion King themed. And they had paw prints and they had Simba here and there. But on the original ships, you used to have compasses with the ships that would kind of indicate that you were going forward or aft. And then Simba indicated if you were going forward or aft.
And then I got kind of, well, how come we just have leaves? And then I looked at it. And the butterflies are gonna be the indicator on your direction. So I was wrong. They did have the. Yeah, each floor. Has a wayfinder essentially. Yeah. So in the carpet. So if you're trying to figure out where your room is and you're like, is it aft or forward? If you look, there's always a character in the carpet that is facing forward. So on our floor on deck nine,
they were the butterflies because ours was up, up was the movie. And it was like jungle-y and in the room had, and we have the little Kevin.
Oh my gosh, we did. Yeah, we had Kevin. So yeah, so I was so awesome. So each, so which is kind of an adventure themed movie. So yeah, all the movies and all the floors are kind of themed after adventure. But I don't know. Are you getting some of the highlights?
Did you like the room? Like, I mean, then. So here's what I, so the rooms are nice. The rooms I like better than the original cruise rooms. The thing I don't, if you're like, it's similar to what they're doing with the Disney World hotels, is they're going with this modern like, so they used to be like really Disney themed. Like the original Disney Cruise Line rooms, like had Pirates of the Caribbean and they had like a chest thing that looked like a steam trunk
from like a traditional like cruise ship, like from the 1920s or whatever. Like the whole room used to be themed, which was cool, but they've gotten away from that. So now the rooms are like very modern and minimalistic with very little theme, which I know people like. Yeah, it's just a couple things then. There's very, yeah, there's very, like you would not know it was a Disney, if you took away the mural behind the bed, which is huge and one painting.
And the runner that says Disney Treasure on the foot of the bed, you would not know it was a Disney room. Those are the only things. Then when you take down the bunk bed, it has the drawing above it with the stars and the genie. But there's nothing else in that room in the ship. No hidden micky's anywhere. Not that I know. I don't think so. I don't think so either and I'm looking for them. There's nothing like Mickey on the light switches, like a little metal circle thing that you turn
that looks like Mickey Mouse head. There's nothing integrated into anything. It just looks like a nice clean modern cruise room. Not over the top. There's no, yeah, like the original hotels at Disney and everything were really themed. And now they're going with this just nice clean modern and a couple little things that make you know. Yeah, very minimal. Cattle clutches. Yeah, so, but people like that, but that's the one thing that I'm kind of like, yeah, I don't know.
I mean, it's pretty light woods, light colors. I mean, it's not, it's nice. Okay, so I'm going to try and give some kind of structure to this. We're going to stick with dining. Yes. We talked about 1923 and we kind of touched on cocoa. What is kind of cool because this is a seven night cruise is that you do have to go to restaurants more than once. Yep. And what they've done is with cocoa, the first night you dine at Plaza de Cocoa, you're going to see Miguel with his current family.
It's a stage show. It's a stage show. So it's in the middle of all the tables and it's a decent size stage and it's raised and you can see. It's really nice. And then it's like a plaza in Mexico at night outdoors with trees and roof lines. and lights and they do two different stage shows. Yeah. So you've got Miguel and then the town mariaches and they do songs and dances and entertainment. And then in the second night, it becomes a fun, filled, dear, de lais mortis.
Nice accent. And mama cocoa and abuela and the rest of the Rivera family they come out and they entertain us as well with more song and dance. And then of course the heartwarming story. And I thought their costumes were great. Yeah. Yeah, that's the best. That's the best theme dining on that ship. It was. That was fantastic. Yeah, that's fun. It's fun. That's phenomenal. Well, and then we also got the opportunity to hear a little bit about how it all came to be.
Finding a Miguel and then finding the mariaches band. And they didn't just grab a mariaches band. They grabbed three individuals. And they wanted some lower bait. The big guitar and then they wanted some harmony and they wanted some melody and the main, I guess. Yeah, there's a bass player or guitar player and a violinist that they couldn't do a full mariaches band because of the size of the venue. They went all over the world for auditions. And then they picked these people who
had to leave their mariaches bands, which is hard for them to do to actually come on the ship. And they've been rehearsing for three months. And they did one of their first shows when we were on. And they're fabulous. They really are. They ended up with one from New Mexico, one from Chicago or something. one from Chicago and one from in Mexico. Yes, I'm worried. I think it was Guadalajara. Good job. There you go. Did you read that somewhere? But it was fun because those performers,
we saw them at the kiss good night on the ship just as themselves watching the show. Because they're brand new. They've only been on that ship for a week or two. The ship's only been there. So and they're their first time with Disney, working with Disney. And they're watching all the shows on their own. And then the one guy picked up a little piece of confetti and put it in his pocket from the show. So they have that Disney magic where they're just amazed by,
like, you can see you're like, oh, there they are. And they're regular clothes. You can see how excited they are. And I hope that doesn't wear away. Because it's very hard to keep that level of excitement. But you could see how the cast members that are new are seeing some of the shows themselves for the first time or just loving them. So that's a great feeling. OK. So then we're going to move over to Worlds of Marvel. This is, it looks, I think, almost identical to the other one
on the wish. The other one on the wish. And this is where you're going to have a little bit of interactive, I guess, electronic digital entertainment with displays on the walls. If you have boys and you have people that love Marvel and you have kids, then it's great. If you're an older adult that doesn't care about Marvel, it's OK. It's not as good. I don't care. I'm in the, it's OK. It's not my long. It's not, it's not my favorite. But the other one on the other ship was not my favorite either.
Debbie would love. Wasn't the same characters? There's no characters. Well, OK. So again, hold on. Well, so with, they switched it up. This one's different. Right. So this is also a two night show. Yes. And we saw, I don't know which one. Yes. And you're going to have, this one is kind of like hosted or MCed by Groot. So you hear a lot of, I am so it is, it is Guardian of the Galaxy themed, which I liked. They have this thing on the table, which they have
on the table of the wish as well, which is like this interactive thing that they make you push these buttons to do things, which was not great on the wish. So now they've turned it. So it's better because now it's a trivia. It's like a trivial pursuit gaming device now. So basically while you're eating, they're playing trivial pursuit questions. Marvel themed. Marvel themed. And then there's buttons on this thing and you push the buttons and you see if you got them right.
So there's that. And then they play really good 80s music. Yeah, they do play good music throughout the whole game. Because it's Guardians of the Galaxy theme. But then you get a special appearance. Do you? Not on the night that we saw. Oh, maybe it's a different. Okay. All right, well, that's good. So on the wish you get an appearance by Aunt Man and the Wasp is it? Yeah, and then I think they tossed Spider-Man in their way. And then Spider-Man is on the treasure.
No. Cool. Are you sure? Does he come on the treasure later of the night we weren't there? Yes. Okay. Yeah. That sounds right. That sounds good. I don't know. It's okay. It's not my favorite thing. But I can see how kids love it. It's not as good as that. It's hard to beat that the animation one at Animator's Palette. Well, that one's so creative. Yeah. I mean, that's what I expect. And so then it's, you know, it's hard to come up with a thing. My favorite dining experience is by far
the Plaza de Coco. Yeah, that's really good. And the food. The food there is really good too. That may have been my favorite Disney food of all time. Yeah. It's a Plaza de Coco. The food there was great. Yeah. I think it is. I think it is. We had each a lot of us for an appetizer than you have. Yeah. Chicken Antiladas with Red Sauce as an appetizer and it was big enough for a meal. And they did tell you that. They had chips and salsa instead of bread.
Yeah, fresh quackamole was. Oh, that was what the appetizer is. Oh, that was what the appetizer is. And what do I get in the end on that one? It's all such a blur. It was really good. Everything there was good. Everything was good. Yeah. The food is good.
It's kind of nice because I feel like on cruises, you really don't get a lot of Mexican food in general. I mean, typically it's like steak and chicken fish and pasta is kind of fun switch up. Yep. And the way those restaurants are set up because of the way the, the, they're put together on that ship, is they all have these long hallways, like really long hallways before you get to the actual restaurant, which would be a negative normally, but Disney uses that like a cue.
So they build this whole story while you're walking down these really long hallways. So everybody's like taking photos and. And it builds this band. And yeah, and you're like, look, you're seeing all these different things. So it kind of builds this whole story before you get to the restaurant with Marvel and with Coco. And with the air and dale on the wish. So they do a really great job with that set up. Oh, so normally, and I don't know if I am not remembering
correctly, you guys can help me. But on the other ships, isn't the buffet, Kavanas? Yeah, Kavanas in that. Isn't, isn't that open for dinner? No, I don't believe so. It was never utilized it for dinner. I think you know, on Royal. See, that's the thing. Yeah, I don't think it is either because. Well, we've never been tempted because we've never been tempted because you always want to go to the Disney thing, right? So for one night, Lisa was like, you know what?
I want to, I think Brook wanted something. And they, so Lisa was like, I'll just run down to Marceline market or whatever it is on this. They are. They are not open for dinner. She wanted carrot sticks and celery. So that is the one thing that's different between Royal and here is you have to eat at the dining you're assigned to because the buffet, which is always open on every other ship that I can think of is not. It's not. So have dining options on the top deck too.
You have. Yeah, so you have. And room. Yes. So you do have. So you have room service and then you have the pool area, things that are. Well, let's talk about this. Let's talk about the festival foods up on the pool deck. It's it's really well done. It's amazing. It did. So they have almost, it's almost like a food court. Yeah. But on the outsides. And they've got theme stations. You've got Mickey Smokestack barbecue, which is like the best barbecue,
which I don't know how it's that good. It's really that it's like everything at that, that the spoke barbecue is is great. It is. They've got Donald's canteen. So here's more Mexican and you can get a bowl. You can get a burrito. You can get tacos. I ended up eating here twice. You get nice. Yeah, like soft tacos or whatever. And you can get the guacamole. Like a young chipotle. Yeah. It really was. And you can get they had three meat options, a couple of rice options, bean options.
They had the pork, the chicken, the steak, the steak was. But they're really nice. They're like really good. They're not like, I don't know. Like sometimes you go to the place of the bar. Yeah, sometimes they're just, you know, like a piece of cheese pizza. And it's like the worst thing ever. No, these are like, they do have daisy pizza pies. But these are like really well done. Like all the different barbecue, they have brisket, they have ribs, they have pork,
they have the bacon cheese, they have collard greens, if all kinds of sides. And they're all excellent. And all the everything at that Mexican taco bar is great. They have Pluto or goofy has hot dogs and burgers. Yeah, chute these grilled was your typical real food. And then they've got minis. So they've got something. Then they got a pizza pie. They got a pizza pie. And then they've got the ice cream and instead of just one machine, now it's this whole thing that's like a counter
and a bunch of machines. Well, and they have the fruit there. And they serve it too. Yeah, it's a lot of healthy options. It's like the way it should have been. So that's an improvement on the ship and the wish. They've really done that up. They have lots of seating. So they've got the ice cream parlor. Oh, where it's that's your extra jumbo sweets. And yeah, this was your additional cost ice cream shop. They've gelato and cookies and lots of crazy desserts.
Yeah, and this is all themed on Zootopia. And they've got they do not have the little paw ice cream bars. They do not, but they have a cookie. They're okay. I mean, they're not. They're they're reasonable. I think like everybody was thinking about like even the drink prices are reasonable because they're like, you know, this drink is $8 here. And it would have been like 18 or up, you know, on up for this alcoholic drink. And Disney World. So they don't and the coffee prices are like better than Starbucks.
They're all of them are very reasonable. I mean, they unless you buy the mug. Well, they even then they're the scent. They're decent price for what you get. Like you get like a techie mug thing at the heart of the mansion or whatever. And they're 50 bucks or 60 bucks, depending on which one you get. comes with the drink. Are you jumping around? Well, he asked about the prices. Anyways, so I feel like prices were good. And there's only a few things that are extra.
Yeah, it's not too bad. We hit the food court. Oh, and then they had those two really cute. They're like cafe bar type things. They had cafes and they had hay cafe and Jade cricket cafe. So Jade cricket was of course, Mulan themed and then. Hey, he was Moano and they're just bars. They're just bars. Yeah, but they're for a gigantic ship. They have some of these spaces like those bars see six people. Right? Probably. Yeah, I mean, they're literally they serve six people, which is nice because they have these little small.
And they're like very small characters, right? Like hay hay from Mo, from Moana and then the cricket from. What is it, Mulan? Yeah, so they're like these obscure characters that are kind of cute. And then they'll have coffee. So they and instead of just serving alcoholic drinks, they have a lot of non-alcoholic drinks now. they also serve a lot of coffee at those places too now. So you don't just have to go to coaf cafe. You get a really good coffee.
They have a ton of different places now that you could get really good coffee drinks. So they've stepped up their game and they non-alcoholic arena. Do you want to jump to the PS to pieces? What is that? Yes. Yeah, they know where we're going. Yes. On it, mansion. The haunted mansion parlor has got to be the best thing. It's got to be the best thing disease done since I can think of anything that they've done. So my first question is, remember on the wish when the Star Wars lounge opened,
first you didn't have reservations and that was a nightmare. So they got rid of the reservations and it was walk up. How do you get in there? So. So. So it's going to be on a seven night. So I feel like you'll be able to get in because on the wish with that Star Wars one, it's like three, four, five nights, right? So it's a lot harder. For us, because it wasn't an official cruise, it was just like a long line. And you just waited. And you could wait a couple hours.
You could wait probably two, a couple of hours. But then later in the cruise, like you could just walk in. There was nobody waiting. It's dependent on like when you went like if you went right. So one day it opened at noon and it closed at 1 a.m. And we were in line at 11 30 and the line was down the hallway. Yeah. It stretched all the way to the wall theater Walt Disney theater. And I think yeah, we went all the way back to Walt Disney theater. And we waited.
And we went in with the kids. And we probably waited an hour, maybe a little more than an hour. Yeah. But that's before it opened on a very short cruise where everybody in the world just wants to get in that one place. And then later that night, I went at 11 o'clock at night and I stayed till it closed at one in the morning. And at 11 o'clock I walked right in and I stayed in there until they turned the lights on. Well, and then he said he was in there and I met up with him and I just walked in.
And so at that point there was no line. Yeah. So it depends on when you go. And I think on a seven night cruise. The first few days are going to be packed because everyone wants to go. And then you could probably just get in. But I assume they'll do like a reservation thing if they have to. So if you've seen the artist rendering. It looks pretty cool. It looks like a parlor. Yeah. And they've got two main city areas right in the middle with two couches that are back to back.
and then chairs that go with the couches. But I think the rendering missed. It's one of the highlight for me. It's one of the few places where it's better than the rendering. You know how the renderings better. The renderings are always so cool. And then you go and you're like, that's pretty cool. So what they did is between the two back to back couches, they have a fish tank. Well, fish tank is cool. And this fish tank has skeleton fish that are swimming.
And it has of course, it's the Hahn and Manchin Parlor. And the effect. And it made me so happy. There were these fish that were just skeletons swimming around. Of course, Disney magic. And you don't see that in the rendering and like the rendering videos and such. Look it up online. I will try to post. I think I have. You have somebody who wants to post some videos. It's so I heard that back in the 1960s, they wanted to do this fish tank. They've been wanting to do this for decades.
So they actually did it in the Hahn and Manchin Parlor. It's there's so many things in there that you were like, it's cool because you can, you were like right next to this stuff where you can actually see it touch it. And you still don't touch it. And you still don't know how they're doing it a lot of it. You're like, how are they doing this? Okay. So let's start from the beginning. It's kind of a foyer to go into before you actually walk into the,
the parlor and they've got decorations and tomb suite, tomb and. Yeah, home suite, tomb or something like that. Some something like that. Whatever that saying is from a Hahn and Manchin, they have that. And then they've got one of the doors from the Hahn and Manchin ride with the, that knocker, that spiky knocker. Mm hmm. And you go in. You open the door. And it is indeed a parlor. And you've got seating to the left. And then along the wall on the left, you've got all kinds of portraits of.
Very similar to the ones that you see in the queue. After the stretching room, but before the ride. Yep. And, but there's, they're a little different. Yeah. They're more of a nautical take on the right. And those characters. Yeah. And you've got that. And they, they move and evolve and they sing with the music. And, and then in the middle, again, you have that fish tank with a couch on either side of it with some chairs. And, and then you go further over and you've got the bar.
And the bar has seating for maybe 10 people at best. And then one of the highlights in the parlor is the mirror behind the bar. And it shows different scenes, whether it's the hat box ghost or the ballroom scene or hitchhiking ghosts or. Madam, you know, the Ota. Yep. It has a bunch of different things that happen on the giant mirror behind the bar. There's a music box off to the right that does some fun things. There is a fireplace with a mantle with a mantle clock, a hundred,
a mansion, a mantle clock. I like where we were sitting. The portrait above us. Yeah, that portrait is. I don't even know how they do what they do on that portrait. That portrait is the coolest thing ever. Like the portrait. Go from people to skeletons to melting. Skeletons to melting. Skeletons to people whose eyes move to standard portraits. It's really amazing. And then the clock on the mantle does a thing where it strikes the 13th hour and different things happen.
And they have those mantle clocks for sale. You can buy it. You can get whatever you want to restore outside the regular Disney. The store has the music box and the mantle clock and some keys. Or like bottle opener or corkscrew or one block or something. Yeah. So they've got a bunch of different items that you can get a lot of cool things. Oh. And then the Donald chair. The Donald chair. You can actually sit in. Hopefully you all know what the Donald chair is from the haunted mansion.
Yep. You can actually sit in the chair. Yeah. You can actually. So it's cool because you're up. You're like in the haunted mansion and the things are there. You're sitting in them. You're right there with everything. They have a menu. Post some pictures. Oh my God. Sounds so cool. Yeah. Well. And then I have some. I have some really awesome photos. Wow. I do. You know, I. I have some really good. So Lisa. Oh, yeah. The next day was invited by Disney to film a piece in the haunted mansion.
So Lisa and I were in there for 45 minutes with the lights on. Her nature moves. So I took picture sharpie of every detail. I could get a picture of what the lights on that you can't see with the lights off. We had the whole parlor to ourselves. For while she. So. And then I so it's amazing. Like I was like, because you can't see a lot of it because there's green lights and lightning and dark. And so with the lights on and everything just. I was like, oh, man, look at all these details.
What book is this on the shelf? Let me take a picture. So I have pictures. So I've got to post those of all the little things that you can't see when you're normally in there. Well, and who else was on the ship. Oh, the lady who did the Haunted Mansion wallpaper. We met her. Oh, she was actually there in the bar, but I missed her, but we. She's an artist. Yeah. So she worked with Walt Disney like 60 years ago. And she was. Walt Disney was her boss.
She was saying. She was they were doing the Haunted Mansion. And I had to design and I had to go to the store and get some wallpaper for the. Or the attraction. And they didn't have any spooky wallpaper. They have all these different types of wallpaper. So I was like, I guess I'll just draw something. And so she's like, so I just drew this thing. And she's like, back then you were just drawing it. You know what I mean, it wasn't like a. Like this historical thing or this crazy thing that everybody.
Loves and cherishes. So she just drew this wallpaper idea. And then they put it in the Haunted Mansion. And then she's like, I can't believe that like 60 years later. Everybody's going crazy about this wallpaper. So she would. Her cool. Yeah. So she was there. So yeah. So she told some fun stories about working with Waltz. And about the Haunted Mansion. But yeah. It's amazing. So the menu is on a. A lot of these menus are on iPads now. There is a hidden menu.
Oh, that's right. There is a hidden menu. I don't want to tell you how to get to the hidden menu. Because I want you to figure it's not that hard to figure out. Because then nobody would find the hidden menu. So just. No, there is one. Yes, there is a hidden menu. So look at the menu and pay attention to everything on the menu. And you'll figure out how to get to the hidden menu. And if you get to the hidden menu, it opens up a drink. Which is the bat.
From the. What is it? The stanchions, I guess. In the Haunted Mansion. Oh, that's cool. And it has two drinks. One in each hand. One on the left, one on the right. And you can get it with with the alcoholic drink or the non alcoholic drink. And you do not get to keep the bat thing. Don't try. What it is not come with. I know they should have made it where you keep the bat thing. Even for a hundred dollars. Or would be three hundred dollars. So it comes out as this giant metal.
You know, amazing piece. That you would be like, whatever this cost, I will buy it. Because it's like. And then they take it away. I guess after you're done. Unless. So. I don't know why they don't sell that thing yet. They sell the hitchhiking ghost. Sipper cup. Where the head goes back and forth between. The or the hat box goes. They they goes between the hat box and. Hit under the top hat. It glows from one to the other. It comes with this really weird drink that they.
These are. These weird kid drinks. Yeah. So it's it's meant for kids. And so it does have not an alcoholic options. And the. The options are. They're called bottled potions. And they have a blue grape potion. Cream soda, lemonade and cola. But they have better names. Grim green and grape. Screaming soda. Sour shivers lemonade and creepy crawly cola. And. Do we spoil that little part? There's like some magic thing that happens. They're really cool.
We actually. The kids didn't like the lemonade. So we have one that they bought that we didn't open that. We just brought home. And the other one. We just. But the but everybody said they like the cream soda one. And then for twenty five dollars. It comes with these. separate. The. The. The. That is also very cool. That you can actually. It was only twenty two. Oh, okay. For twenty two dollars. Yeah. Which breaks very easily. Because so be very careful.
It's a complicated. It's a it's a. It's definitely not made for kids. And then they have two mugs. If you were in a techie mugs. They have the. Do you know the name. Lisa knows the names of them. Yeah. So we have. Yeah. So we have. The. One of them is like sixty dollars. The last catch. The last catch is the. The. The. The. Sailor guy. Yeah. That's old. I don't know how to say these old forester. Statemen. Statesmen. Monin rose and mango and marigold lime and pineapple.
And then you have the captain's bride. The. The. Which I ended up getting that. But since I didn't want what it came with. Which is. Oh, D. Go. Artisanal mezcal. I'm a riddle. Strawberry lime. Strawberry comma. Lime comma mango and hot sauce. I got mine with. Another drink that was actually pretty good. Yeah. It was the spirit free. Which was a plan words. There's about. five million. And actually. So. Mark's look like the traders Sam. Yeah. They're like, yeah.
They're up that style. They're like that. They're 50 to 60 dollars. Just like those. The last catch one. He has like a. Bishing spear hook thing in his hand. That's like a metal stir. That actually comes out. And you can use to stir. And they also first edition on them. So if you're into that type of thing. then the mermaid siren one is cool as well, which is the one that Lisa got. So the name of the drink that I got with my my bride is called sympathetic libations and it's also
called zero proof and it's liars agave blanco liars orange sack blue blood orange cherry sour and lime salt foam. The lime salt foam was very tart, very sour. It was good. It was good. Yeah. And the drink was really good. It's hard getting non alcohol drinks because it's usually I'll just juice juice juice. Yeah. This had unique flavors to it. Yeah, it was definitely different. Yeah. They have about six mixed drinks. I think on the menu plus the hidden menu and then they have
them. They have and they all have a fun unique presentation like one comes with a deaf certificate. I know one comes with yeah, one comes with a little deaf certificate. One that's about the size of a business card. One comes with one comes in a box. It might be the one like in a wooden box that they used for fall. They use it to to to put the steep those wouldn't want to say smoke. So it's like maybe I don't know if that if that goes with whiskey. So it has this nice smoky smell and flavor.
So they put it the smoke in the box and they close the box and they take it to the table that they open the box. And then also they you know how they imprint on the coffees they imprint like now Mickey Mouse or the name of the cruise ship. So they imprint on with invisible ink, the haunted mansion parlor. Blow in the dark and then they are blacklight. Then they have a blacklight that they bring over. So when it opens up, it has the it glows the name of the
haunted mansion on top of your drink. So it's the little so creative. The little action. Those guys makes so much money. Like if you wanted to get a cruise ship job, like it's on believe they never stopped making drinks. It is crazy. Everything has an 18% gratuity. Our our guy we each had one drink. Our guy got a $28 tip. Wow. Or you know, it's crazy. Five minutes. They they limit it to 45 minutes, but it's not like they're chasing people out of there. The show they said that someone
said the show's 30 minutes. And then it repeats kind of. But I think it's a 45 minute show. Maybe it's 45. I don't know. So there's so much going on that it's hard to know that it's actually going to receive things. They're like, okay, I can go. They want to see the full show. You know, there's different things that happen. And there's different things that happen all over the place. So it's hard to you have to kind of go in one time set at the bar one time sit by the fireplace. Okay.
So anyways, it's the coolest thing. Right outside of the haunted mansion parlor is the Skipper Society Sharpie. I thought of you. It's the second coolest thing. That sounds like a lot of fun or a lot of fun. It was. It was indeed. Watch your head and step as you enter the Skipper Society. I guess that that would. That's what they say. The other thing that's what they say on the boat. That's why I said it. Oh, that's good. Good job. But the themeie on this. You've got the tarp's
overhead. You have like the canopy that comes over with the scallopy edges, leaves, trees, animals. They have really awesome set up for seating is really cool. They've got those camping type chairs with the canvas. Yeah, they have really nice. Loungy area. Then they have a bar area that faces the stage. They have a stage, which is nice. Similar to the wish has the bayou in the space, which is also very nice. I think I like the Skipper Society better. Oh, I like
tiana's better. Tiana's is they're both amazing spaces. Yeah. Like I love you walk through that space as going to the Disney theater. And it's usually before dinner or after dinner. And you're like, you have an hour or an hour and a half to kill before something else comes up. And you end up walking right through that space. And there's always good music or trivia or something going on. And it's a really inviting cool space. And you can kind of see like, okay, there's you don't have
to like go into a bar and like open it up and go, what's going on? And here is there anything going on? You're just you walk with the Paris. Yeah. Yeah. And we spent zero time in there. Well, this is true. We'll talk about Paris. Go for a minute. But with the Skipper Society, they've got those two big corner booths with those amazing parrot chandeliers. And they're made out of a stained glass, amazing five parrots on each one. Which evidently you can buy online. We might be buying one. I don't know where it's going to go,
but we may be buying one. If you want a parrot chandelier, I do. They're very so. Oh, and then what else can you get at this bar? Well, you can get a couple of things. Like what? Well, first off, Sharpie, the booze on both sides have all the cool little in and gym. If you're a Disney nerd, like postcards, there's a postcard from Walt Disney, where he's talk, it's a telegraph postcard, where he's talking there. They're all just, they're all just pieces of story to go with it
that are all made up, obviously. But so they have like job postings for the Skipper jobs. They have different telegrams, they have different postcards, they have all kinds of cool things like Disney lore that you can read and what they kind of, or the story. They have a techie mug that is one of the boats. Oh, yeah, you could get a boat as your techie mug, but it's short and long, like a boat should be instead of tall, like a totem pole. And they have a few food items,
for some reason, that everybody loved, which are waffles. They were beyond waffles. They're Belgium, like Belgium waffles, right? Yeah, and they were only like four by four or four by five inches. So they're tiny. They're not that big. And they're only five dollars. Yes. And you get your choice of maple syrup or Nutella. But then they also had that apple, or I heard that in an apple waffle as well. But we ended up getting just the maple syrup waffle. And it, it was exceptional. It
was sweeter and crunchier. It had a great texture. It was better than just your normal. Yeah. And they have, they have themed drinks like hip upon a maitai and, you know, so as everything is, yeah, skipper bar. Yeah. I only had two drinks at the skipper bar. I think I had money. Did you have in the home? I had almost every drink in the home. Imagine minus the special that's good drinks. The hot at mansion bar has the best. Well, I think it was unique. Yeah. So the
skipper bar is very easy to get up to. And you could try like I had a coffee there, which was like five bucks and I had a cappuccino. So you can actually get a cappuccino there in that one time. And then I had the, I had to get the mug. So I had that drink and that one that was good too. But I remember someone was like, Oh, the maitai here's only like eight dollars. And this would be like a trader. Sam's would be like $18. So I felt like the drink prices there were reasonable. But haunted
mansion, I think I tried, I tried out of the six. I think I tried five. And they were all really good. They're all, they're all, um, booze forward minus some of them are Rudy, flowery, sugar,y, but most of them are pretty boozy. Okay. So I have two tangents to go off of what we just said. Uh, the first one is deep mentioned getting a coffee. It seems that all of the bars have coffee cappuccino machines now. Yeah. Almost of them. You can get coffee anywhere. It seems
many, many places. Yeah. Like any kind of coffee drink specialty drink coffee drink. Yeah. Just espresso based. Yeah. So if you go with somebody who doesn't want to get a cocktail, it's a nice option. It is. Um, and then speaking of waffles, I think I've mentioned this before that lately, I've been disappointed with Mickey waffles because they changed the recipe. Well, the good news is on the Disney treasure, the good waffles are there. And it's up in Marceline market. And
I got mine from the little kids area. They have a kids buffet that is lower. It's so cute. It's so cute. But I was so happy that this ship had the right recipe and they were good. Also, now that I said that, um, I'm thinking about the buffets. Everything you order, you, you get served. You don't just grab it though. It's not, I think it's almost reminiscent reminiscent of COVID. So they, so the one thing they've changed, good or bad is yeah, in the, in the buffet, the Marceline market,
there's not a single thing that you serve yourself. Oh, it meal. Oh, yeah, you do serve your own meal. That's it. Yeah, even fruit. You have to ask for every item is handed to you desserts, bacon, which is okay. But they're, so every single thing is handed to you, including the plate. Yeah. So you wash your hands and then everything is given to even the silverware is handed to you. The place you're handed to you. Every food item is handed to you no matter what it is,
um, which cuts down on their food cost. So it's not like people are, not the way they were dishing it out. I mean, I guess scrambled eggs and have my plate was full. Oh, I think it. Well, every time I went, it was different for me. So I don't know. Okay. They were like, all right, give her all the eggs. I don't, but anyways, so that's different. But it's, we've been doing it for an hour. So we'll wrap it up here. But oh my gosh, how could we possibly what we can't wrap it up. All right. Well, what do you want to keep going?
Um, that's going to have to be a second episode. We're going to have to do a second episode. Yeah, there's way too much. But anyway, we haven't talked about shows. We haven't talked about shows. We haven't talked. It's all good. The only things that are, I'm trying to think of the things that I don't like. I'm not a fan of maybe them handing the food out, but you know, that's a small thing. I'm not a fan of the buffet not being open, although I've never noticed it because
I always eat at the regular dining. Um, I don't think the kids like the pool set up. I know Burke is not really excited because they have all these small pools that aren't really pools. You don't care for, um, the mouse coaster, the Aquamouse. The Aquamouse is not as good as the aqua duck. The Aquamouse, you don't have to walk up all the stairs to get on where the aqua duck you have to walk way up to get on. The disadvantages of not walking up is you get as half of the ride is going up a conveyor belt in your tube. And it's entertaining
because they have different things that happen. But so much of your ride is just going up the lift. So that part I don't, so it shortens the ride substantially. So that I don't feel like is a great. I understand why they tried to do it that way because you don't have to walk up any stairs. You're just like, oh, I can just get on right here at the bottom. That's nice. But anyway, so there's there's things. And then then the ship layout is so much more we need to
the ship layout is a little wonky with the way they have things. But anyways, well, let's finish off with, um, bars and dining and stuff. And then maybe we have to do another episode. We do want to cover everything else. But the periscope pub. Cool. 20,000 leaguets under the sea. Um, the ceiling in there is like this domed ocean glass where you can kind of see out. And you can see like the sharks. So just swimming above you cross reference in Hagrid's, um, motocross that one area where you can
see the motorcycles above you. Um, it's that kind of effect where you see the shadows and you kind of make out what it is. And you know, it's a fish. But that's what you've got going on in here. Yeah. Lots of 20,000 leagues under the sea. Uh, pair from an area. Really cool bar loads of USBs. Yeah. They did a good job with every bar has a charger USB C or, uh, maybe more 110 or a USB loads of places to plug in a laptop or yeah, or a phone. So they've done that up. Then you have your favorite,
which is Scott Cat Lounge. Well, going back with the periscope pub. Yeah. What is kind of unique about this is all the craft crews that you've got available. They had that whole thing of, uh, taps. Yeah. And those are probably 15 different beers. Um, so that was so this is like your, yeah, tons of TV so they can do sports in there. Uh, but it's just a cool thing for a sports bar area. Okay. Well, we, we do have other, we still have scat cat that we can talk about in the
rows and, um, tallows. So I think we need to cut it here and just remember where we are. Yeah, we'll do some of my other time. Yeah. So much. But it's amazing. Here about the I want to hear about Moana. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Like good stuff. All right. All right. No more Caitlin. All right. I'm going to pinch it. Leo weights. I am going to grab the show, wrap it up right here. I'd like to thank Pixy vacations for sponsoring the podcast. If you have any comments or questions
