Hi! Love your podcast and your sense of humor. I feel like I get a real view into Walt Disney World, not just a “sunshine and flowers” podcast. Your last podcast about the ridiculous price increase of the parties prompted me to write this comment. We are going to WDW in October for our son’s 10th birthday. It is our first time and likely the only time we will go for several years. I was very much looking forward to the parties, but when the prices came out it really set me back. As you pointed out, the increases equaled about $80 for our group of four. The only reason that we are still going is because I don’t know if and when will ever go back and I have heard such wonderful things about the Halloween party. However, something else is going to have to give in order to make up for that $80. I had planned to have the room decorated for my son’s birthday through the Disney florist, and likely that will be the thing that we cross off our list. I am pretty disappointed in Disney’s decision. However, I am hoping that the silver lining in this is that the attendance will drop. The one complaint that I have heard consistently about the parties is that they have gotten too crowded. I’m wondering if maybe Disney did this large price increase in order to cut back on the people who attend but still maintain the revenue flow.
Anyway, love you guys, keep up the good work! Jan
Thanks Jan
We will have to go to the Disney World No So Scary Halloween Party and / or the Christmas Party this year to report back on the crowd levels and experience. We LOVE both Disney World events, but the pricing this year is of course higher than previous years and makes you reconsider the entertainment value.
I love love love these Disney World special events so we will let you know how the 2016 parties are after we go.
Thanks
Steve
My Fiancé and I love your podcast! I recently listened to the podcast about the Halloween and Christmas Party. We are traveling to Disney World in December. (Shout out to Chris for booking our trip!) This is our first time going during the Christmas season and we are so excited to go to the Christmas Party. Unfortunately its sad to hear that the prices have gone up so drastically over the past year. We look forward to hear more about all of your Disney experiences/stories as we lead up to our trip. Keep up the great work!
Hi Christy,
Have a great time at Walt Disney World this December. There is nothing I love better than Walt Disney World with the holiday decorations up in the Disney parks and resorts. You are going to love it. Also thank you for getting with Chris (Christina) Wood to book your Disney World Vacation. We really love to work with Mouse Chatters and help plan the perfect vacation.
Have a wonderful time at Walt Disney World
Steve
Hey, Mousechateers!
Thanks for another great episode. I’ve never attended Not-So-Scary or Very Merry, and always wondered if it was really worth it for adults. Sadly, now I guess I don’t need to wonder anymore, thanks to those exorbitant prices! The only benefit I can imagine is if the prices keep so many people away, maybe the park will be relatively empty. I like Sharpie’s idea of using the money you’d spend there to tack an extra day onto your vacation, instead. “Sharp” thinking, there!
Hi Matt,
Yeah two great points here. The Disney World Halloween Party crowds hopefully will be much lighter with the price increase this year and that would allow you more time on the rides and attractions. Or Sharpies advice to take the $80 and put it towards other vacation extras at Disney works out well too.
Thanks
Steve
Hey guys! I love listening to you guys during my morning coffee! But what happened to the theme song this week? I think it’s the most unique thing about your podcast!
Hi Cristina,
Sorry I had to edit some shows from Paris and I could not get the music file to work on about three shows. 🙁

I am planning on trip in October planning to visit the parks M-F. 3 of those nights are Halloween Party nights. I would love advice on how to best plan my trip while avoiding this party. For example, do you suggest visiting MK on party days for relatively low crowds during the day even with the early 7:00 closure or visiting MK on a non party day when it’s open later. I’m concerned non party days at MK will be extra crowded with people like me avoiding the party. Thanks in advance for any tips!
Hi Kathleen,
Great questions. I would get with Lauren, Chris, or Sharpie or a Pixie at Pixie Vacations. They plan Disney vacations for guest everyday and would be more helpful than I am. It’s free and booking with them is the same price as booking direct with Disney and you get their personal advice and help instead of a Disney call center with a different person each time that does not know your family and vacation preferences.
Go to https://PixieVacations.com and fill out a quick quote form and pick their name or a Pixie’s name from the agent drop down list on the form.
Also they will know the crowd levels better because they keep up with this stuff day to day.
Thanks
Steve
Hey MouseChat gang. Thanks for the podcast. We are putting together a 3 night trip in late November and are planning on the party. It will be our first special event experience. I had purchased 3 day tickets with our package, but realized our first day with airport transfer etc. would not get rolling until at least the early afternoon. So we booked an early evening ADR outside the parks (nothing desirable available in MK), and switched to a two day park ticket, plus the party for our first night. It is close to a wash price wise with that length of ticket (we always buy hoppers) and will allow us to have the party plus two full days. So, perhaps another idea if MVSCP is desired. Attend on the first or last day, or Substitute for a day during the stay and fill with other on property attractions. Thanks again for the podcast. I do enjoy it!
Hi Mel,
That sounds like it worked out perfectly for your arrival time and a quick trip to Walt Disney World. Let us know how your Disney vacation goes in October.
