May was a big one, friends. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to start planning a Disney trip, the parks and the ships just handed you a whole list of them. Here’s what our team is buzzing about — and what it means for your next vacation.
The Mandalorian and Grogu join Smugglers Run
Starting May 22, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run got a brand-new mission at both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland. You’ll team up with Din Djarin and Grogu (yes, Baby Yoda) to chase down ex-Imperial officers across the galaxy. If you have Star Wars fans in the family, this one alone is worth a Hollywood Studios day.
Soarin’ takes flight across America
On May 26, Soarin’ at EPCOT launched an all-new film soaring across the United States in honor of the country’s 250th birthday celebration. It’s a fresh reason to ride an old favorite.
Little ones, this summer is for you
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live opened May 26 as a new interactive stage show, and Bluey and Bingo arrived at Disney’s Animal Kingdom — you can meet them and play games from the show at Conservation Station. Disney’s “Cool Kids’ Summer” runs May 26 through September 8 with family activities across all four parks. If you’re traveling with preschoolers, this is the summer to go.
Flower & Garden wraps, Food & Wine is on the horizon
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival closed out its run on June 1. There’s a quiet stretch before the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival returns (expected to open in late August), so early-summer EPCOT days will feel a little calmer — great for first-timers.
Summer savings are live
Disney released its summer and fall offers: save up to 30% on select Disney Resort hotel rooms most nights May 1–October 4, with Annual Passholder and Florida Resident discounts running even higher into the fall. There’s also a free dining plan for kids (ages 3–9) with a paid adult plan, and complimentary water park admission on your check-in day for select summer stays. These offers move fast and have date and availability limits — this is exactly the kind of thing our agents watch so you don’t have to.
On the water: a historic month for Disney Cruise Line
The brand-new Disney Destiny is now sailing year-round from Fort Lauderdale on 4- and 5-night Bahamian and Western Caribbean itineraries, with stops at Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay. And Disney Cruise Line made its first-ever Asia debut earlier this spring with the Disney Adventure out of Singapore — the largest ship in the fleet. If a Disney cruise has ever been on your dream list, the fleet has never had more to offer.
