Mouse Chat Disney podcast – A Disney Radio Show by Disney Fans for Fans
What Disney Dining Reservations do I need to book in advance?
Be Our Guest Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom, Cinderella’s Royal Table and Chris, Lauren, Lisa, Bob and Steve discuss the other locations at Walt Disney World you must book at 180 days out if you want to get in for dining.
Be Our Guest is also open for lunch, as a quick service restaurant. For lunch you do not need a reservation, but expect to wait 30 minutes for this quick service location.
Other hard to get dining reservations at Disney World is Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort.
If you want better food and a more relaxed atmosphere you can try Tusker House at Animal Kingdom instead of Chef Mickey’s.
Most of us on this show don’t think Cinderella’s Castle (Cinderella’s Royal Table) character breakfast or Dinner and also Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort is worth the hype. We want to know what you think. Post your comments here and also on our Facebook page. Mouse Chat Facebook Page
Ohana – Is very difficult to get a reservation at now, so plan ahead if you want to try this popular dining location at the Polynesian Resort during your trip.
California Grill – The view from this restaurant is amazing and thus it is very difficult to get a reservation here. Currently the CA Grill is closed and being remodeled but when it reopens we are sure it will be even more popular.
Disney Dining Secrets:
Boma – This buffet at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is a hidden gem. If you want to try something new, this is one of our top picks.
Grand Floridian Cafe – This restaurant you can almost always go as a walk in and the food is very good.
Kona Cafe – At the Polynesian you can sometimes walk into and breakfast is popular.
Artist Point – Amazing food at the Wilderness Lodge and you can sometimes walk into.

If you have a daughter into princesses, the breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table is awesome. At the time we went, there were no specific places to meet the all the princesses, there were only lines for each to wait and get an autograph. We had every princess come and pose with my girl and get pictures, autographs and even a cute memory with my son and Belle. The little Wishing Star ceremony was sweet and on the whole it saved us hours in line, I think. Expensive? Yep, but for our only first visit “treat” and the only table service meal we could afford that visit, it was well worth it to us and I think we chose well. The food was good compared to the counter service meals and the ones we had in our hotel room, but not as good as some of the other places we’ve visited since. But the princesses made it worth it then.
I am a big fan of the castle but it isn’t an every trip treat.
Chef Mickeys is over rated for me.
Two places I would encourage people to do are Sanaa at lunch at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Rose and Crown patio seating for Illuminations.
Also great for daughters into princesses is Ariel’s Grotto in Paradise Pier. It is a seated lunch at water level and while you are having lunch most of the princess are “royally announced” then make a personal appearance at each table signing autograph books and photo ops. Lunch is very good also.
